Recommendations on a battery tender
I don't drive much in the winter and need a battery tender. I'm looking for recommendations.
2014 C7 w/Z51 package Thanks. Jim |
I recommend the CTEK Multi-US 7002. Use it for everything with a battery. Works great. 5 year warranty.
Get the cigarette lighter plug in adapter from Amazon as well. |
about all will do what ya want, I use "bettery tender" like you get at any parts store. I run direct to the battery with the cable coming out the grill. plug it in and when I drive out of the garage it unplugs itself

Battery Tender II at Costco now--good price.

Get the GM stock C7 logo battery tender that came as a option on the car for $100.00.

That's made by Ctek
Got the regualar CTEK 3300 without corvette symbol though. Works the same and you are paying an extra $30 or so for that label. If I had to replace it, it would be the newer 8 stage CTEK as already listed above. |

and an older model, which I have since I bought it in 2013.

I've used a Deltran Battery Tender Plus on my Vette, Harley, and mower battery (winter) for about ten years, and a Harbor Freight Tools float charger (about $6) on my C2 for about ten years and now my truck. The latter trickle charges to about 12.6V and then keeps it there. Can't complain about either for performance and durability, especially the HFT charger for the price.

Or this one which is better and recently dropped almost half in price.
Any good quality one will do what you want.

I've used a Deltran Battery Tender Plus on my Vettes for better than 13 years and they have performed flawlessly. I'd certainly recommend them for your needs.

Amazon.com: CTEK (56-864) MUS 4.3 12 Volt Fully Automatic 8 Step Battery Charger: Automotive |
I also recommend the Deltran Battery Tender Plus. I bought mine in '08 for my old garage queen. It has always worked well and been reliable. It's also available locally at Pep Boys (about $65), though you'll want the optional 12V adapter which I haven't seen at their retail stores. Newer Deltran units may include the 12V adapter, I don't know.
Cheaper products probably work ok, but tenders are Deltran's business and I feel better with their product, especially one that runs 24/7 in the garage. Can't go wrong with C-Tek either, as it's the factory supplied tender. I've read that the saveabattery.com maintainer is also a good unit. |
