Can I run a 15x8 Weld Prostar wheel ?
I know that guys are running the 15x10 wheel with a 7 1/2" backspace, but it is possible to run a 15x8 wheel in the rear ?
Thanks Vic |

At worst,
I think you'd have to grind the cooling fins off the calipers(if that was an issue). They should fit. |

It should fit with little moding.

you'd have to grind the calipers and use a small spacer (like 3/16ths). 16x8s fit without a spacer but you've still got to grind the caliper. I have a set of 16x8s, if you're interested, i might be willing to sell them.

As a note, I run a 16" x 8" Weld Draglite XP rim which fits absolutely perfectly with no backspacing or grinding required. Its almost my understanding this rim is back into production after a brief cancellation.
The 16 x 8 weld draglite XP is the same as the 16 x 8 weld prostar. Both of these rims hold a 26 x 16 x 10.5 ET street perfectly... however, however that is basically your only true slick you can run that is well publicized that I know of. Beach |

my 16x8s have a 5 1/2" BS. A 6 1/2 would probably fit a little better, but i dont think they make them.
Beach, remember the 85 rear calipers are smaller than the later models, so grinding may still be required for Vic even with the XPs, but i dunno for sure |
