Hoosier R7 pressures?
 

Guys running R7s on their cars - what cold/hot pressures are you finding optimal?

Looking for baseline numbers. I just put R7s on my 18" wheels and reading the hoosier website says "consult hoosier rep for optimal pressures for cars over 3000 lbs." From the specs it looks like hot pressures over 40lbs are optimal, but looking for RW numbers.

Just finished a weekend at Sebring with a customer in a C7ZO6 at Sebring.
Morning track temps where 72, air temps where 75
we started cold pressures 29psi, hot off track pit lane 36 psi
as the day went on tracks temps 95+, air temps in the low 80's
cold pressures started at 27psi, hot pressures coming off at 38 psi
We shoot for pit lane pressures to be 36-38psi hot.
Tire wear great nice and sticky Lap times where running 2:24 seconds, driver first time at Sebring
Running 315 fronts
345 rears

Perfect. Thank you. Exactly the information I was seeking. I found another thread and 36ish Hot seems to be a pretty universal number.

Do you know the wheel specs to get 315 on fronts and 345 on rears? Assume this is a C7 Z06? You were running TPMs?

Hoosier suggests 11/12 F/R, although I think others are running 12/13

We run on all our customer cars C7ZO6 and C6ZO6 18x11 fronts/18x13 rears Forgeline Wheels with TPMS installed. We set all tire pressure by an air gage and not by the TPMS readings.

Jim, I'm running the exact same CCW C10 wheels that I used to run on the Katech C6Z. 18x11 F and 18x13 R. I've run them both with and without TPMS and the car performs the same.

Regarding tire pressure, I'm interested to hear what others have to say because I have less of a handle on what works for these tires as far as pressures than I do with the Michelins.

Way back in the dark ages Frank Gonzales recommended 26F/24R cold and I believe you want 32-24 hot. I usually start mine between 26 and 28 cold and then air them down if they come off track over 35.

I start with 26 F and 25 R cold. I then keep them at 28 F and 27 R when heated. They normally come in around 32-34 Hot.
