Will a Dash Logic device report Boost levels with a standard ECS system?

As long as it's using a boost capable MAP sensor then yes. ZR1 or 2 bar ones are common. Has to have one of these for an SD tune regardless.

Doesn't the fact I'm running with Meth mean I must have a boost capable MAP sensor ?

You can run dashlogic off your external MAP used for systems like Alkycontrol, or the OEM sensor mounted on the intake (ZR1) usually by way of ALDL.

Probably, unless you got a maf based kit. Most kits are Map based so you could tie into that sensor using the analog input, but it would be better to read it through the ECU IMO.

My Dashlogic only showed up to 2 psi with the stock MAP sensor because that is only what it read. The Heartbeat SC worked with that sensor, since I found out the dealership sold me NOT a ZR1 sensor, but a generic 1 bar sensor. I went back and got a real ZR1 sensor that is a 3 bar and the Dashlogic shows the proper boost information. You can also customize it to show your boost and something else at the same time such as IAT, calc'ed HP, etc.
Great little device. One drawback however, you will not be able to use your DIC in its original configuration while it is inserted, but you can customize the pages to see what you want to see anyway, so no big deal to me. |

What formula are you using to convert manifold pressure to PSI?

kpa * 0.145038 - 14.5038 ?
EDIT Or maybe it should be kpa * 0.145038 - 14.7 ? |

Just use the built in boost function. If you want more decimal places, make a custom parameter that is just the built in boost one and set it to however many decimals you want.

I just want them to add the ability log AEM's new CAN bus enabled wideband directly over the CAN bus so that there's no need to run a wire for a 0-5V signal I'll take a few other PID's being added too while they're at it :) |
I'm about to pull the trigger on the dash logic w PLX wideband for an A&A system I'm installing in a few weeks. How are the instructions that come with it? My mechanic has never installed/programmed one (pillar guy), so I may need to do most of the custom stuff. I'm ok on the cpu but certainly no programmer

The instructions for both are available online. I have the same wideband so I should be able to help with the setup.
The basic idea is you setup a user defined parameter (or whatever their version is called) that tells it how to convert the 0-5V signal to AFR. (2 * Voltage + 10 is the formula for PLX's wideband). Then you can use that user defined parameter wherever you would like. I made a screen that shows AFR, knock, boost and timing on it for example. |
I have the MAP sensor that came with Alky kit installed. So can I tap into it and run wire to external port on my Dashlogic? If so how is the best way to do this and how do I program the Dashlogic.

Yes you can do it that way but it's easier to just use the MAP sensor on the engine as you don't have to run any wires then. Though if it's not a boost capable sensor then obviously that won't work.
What's the part number on both MAP sensors? |

If they are both 2 bar sensors then you don't need to wire anything to read boost. It will read it over the OBD port the same way it reads coolant temp, RPM's, etc.
