I’m sure that most Corvette fans would agree that the C3 is an American Icon, as explained in a recent report by The Globe and Mail.

Cool article. Ive always felt the C3 body when it came out in '68 was the ultimate in automotive sexy art. Thats was the coming of age time for me, and I associate the early C3 with the perfect lines and dimensions of a car's silhouette. I found it viceral driving one for the first time, peering over the front fenders. Always found it odd that some people hate and deride them and associate them with disco balls, but, whatever. It definitely ran too long, which hurt.

Other Corvettes may be worth more, but I think it is an iconic design. :smash:

I agree it does have something to do when you were "coming of age" (I was delivering 212 local newspapers on a bicycle...LOL's! so maybe any car looked good to me!), but the C3 will always be my favorite!!!

With the possible exception of a 1957 Vette, the C3 is the most iconic Corvette of all generations. When most people think of a Corvette, they think of a C3. :cool: :cheers:

Yes.... an icon. And coming of age right about then also helped burn it into our minds. I`ll never forget the first one I saw... had to have it. I was gorgeous.... and cost 17 cents. But for some odd reason, that one didn`t go into the box with all the others. It was special. It sat up on the dresser... all by itself.
