How many are running two blow off valves?

I have one 50 mm tial blow off valve. Curious if I should add another. Where could I mount the second one? Mine is mounted on the bottom left/driver side of the intercooler. Doesn't look like there's anywhere else I can mount it on the intercooler. Would I be fine with one or do I need two?

I did 3 between my F2 and the intercooler just in case. If you ever hear blower surge when letting off the throttle, that's a sign that you need to increase the efforts to relieve the system. Other things can cause surge such as poor boost/vacuum line routing.

Although I have no compressor surge with just one large BOV, I would consider a second just to be safe. My understanding is its better to have the BOV before the intercooler. Might as well let the hot air out as early as possible, rather than let it heat up the system.

I'm running two Tial Q's with my F1X. No compressor surge with 27+psi of boost.

I am running one Procharger race "big red" BOV before the IC and am only pullied to 21 psi. At what boost level is a second necessary? I have not experienced any surging letting off of the gas.

Anyone with a F1/Ysi in the 1000+ range should have 2 BOVs.

One in stock ECS location, other on pipe in "A&A" location. Both tial 50s.

Not only will it help with belts/surge it helps idle and part throttle. All that air has to go somewhere.

You can see here how we mounted mine on my ysi swapped mustang. I think he did it this way more than anything to be symmetrical but it should also work fine.

I run two 50mm BOVs on the discharge pipe, before the intercooler, immediately after the F1X.

I'm probably going to run mine on the J pipe just before the IC.

Vent those near your radiator to improve cooling

Unreal 04-27-2016 02:57 PM

Probably not a good idea, as discharge temps are probably higher than radiator temps.

2 TiALs here. One in charge pipe before chargecooler and one in the cooler.

95vettski 04-28-2016 07:29 AM

I run 2 tial valves before the intercooler. I've heard it helps on manual cars when your on/off the throttle to prevent the belt from jumping/snapping.
I've never experienced that on my combo.

I also added the second valve to help quiet the street sweeper noise when cruising...it didn't work:lol:

2 here as well. One before intercooler, one after.

Just finished first tune and dyno session at 27 psi with no issues.

Engine bay looks awesome! Please share some more details about your combo. Air to water intercooler?:smiliedrool:

Thanks, I need to do a build thread soon (others were a big help to me when building this). I am scrambling trying to get ready for a standing 1.5 mile next weekend in ME.

Basics: LME 427LSX, All Pro 12-4 Heads, 10-1, F1x, 10 rib, Chiseled Performance Air-to-Water, 4" piping, Mantic Triple, ProEFI, etc, etc.

Wow! Please do a build thread.
