White or Black Z?
Very curious as to which one is liked more.

I live where it gets over 100*. Never black. Every new car I bought since 1994 has been white.

My first car was black.....too hot in So Cal....always over 100 here in the summer... |
|
I love black, but I'm done trying to keep a black car looking good. Doesn't work for a daily driver.
|
I've had a lot of black cars. I want a white with red interior z but if I find a good deal on a black, I might just get it and vinyl wrap it white.
|
My Black wheels are enough to remind me of the extra care and cleaning black requires. But it looks good and also shows every single little chip.
White or Silver was my choice and after LONG THOUGHT. I went with silver. After seeing white in person at the dealer confirmed my choice. Then only 310 silver in 2015 never looked at 2016 total yet. Ton of red, black, white, gray, Glad I went with silver. Color is a personal choice! |
I have 3 cars and they're all black....the black Z06 is the latest in the stable. Keeping these vehicles clean is a full time, sometimes thankless, job. I dearly love a black car, especially on a cloudy day....when it's clean, no other color can touch it. I have a friend with a white Z06....a very pretty car and much easier to take care of then mine is. Kind of like my wife, this new black Z06....she's high maintenance

black cars are magnificent looking when totally clean, but achieving that is a career (had three of them)...so white for me !
|
I like the looks of a black car, but bought an Artic White Z06 and love it.
Last black car I had was a 1969 Chevelle SS 396. Sure wish I still had it. |
its real simple--when the sun goe:cheers:s down take any black car out!!

Favorite b/n those two - to look at or own?
To look at, nothing beats a clean black sports car. I owned one once. Once. To own, b/n those two, I'd take white. |
Black was my first choice, but I already have two black vehicles and I didn't have the energy of maintaining a third. So, I purchased white... with black accents. If you enjoy detailing, get black. There's nothing nicer when clean
|
Judging by sales the winner is White. But I love the Z in black!
|
I love the "mono-chromatic" look. All others look as if all aero and vents are JC Whitney add on's. JMHO.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f253106454.jpg However, I've owned two black daily drivers and know how hard it is to keep them looking good so I don't fall for the showroom bait. I vote for the Arctic White with Adrenaline Red interior. That combo pops and I luv the paint contrast against the Carbon Flash vents. |
To look at and admire: Black
To own and keep clean: White |
As others have said, black is a hard color to beat when it's clean. I had a black Mercedes years ago as a daily driver and finally sold it because it was too hard to keep clean. All of our cars are white, including our new Z06.
|
Neither, black too hard to maintain. White too plain. But if those were my only choices I'd go with black.
|
From what I've gathered so far with this poll is, all practicality aside - black is preferred when it comes to just looks. I have also had 2 black vettes and admit the frustration a day after it was cleaned.. But this post was really more about which one looks best. I have to admit though, the first time I saw an arctic white in person with all the black accents, it stopped me in my tracks and my mouth fell open, it looked unbelievably good!

The only issue I have with white is that living in Florida, it seems that 5 out of every 10 cars are white. |

I thought the same thing. Historically, I've found white cars boring, and white was never a color I considered with previous generation Corvettes, however it just works with the C7 and especially the C7Z with the additional Carbon Flash aero components.

Look at the lines on the white though! This is my car. Love AW and Red combo. Wish GM would make the Z06 in a frost matte pearl white, willing to pay 2k extra for it. AW is still gorgeous though. Shows the lines and the darker Z07 contrast is amazing.

White is my least favorite car color, but as others have said not everything in life is black or white,

Black gets the most attention. Also it's never clean.I mean after you wash it,it's dirty.
White is forgiving about dirt.It can be slightly dirty and still looks clean. |
For those of you with Arctic White and protective film, do the film lines show more? A friend of mine told me that he noticed more dirt next to the film seam lines as result of the white paint. True?
|
The OEM film is noticeable. I installed Xpel on high impact areas and it's virtually invisible... You really have to be looking closely for an edge to see it.
|
I voted white but ONLY because black is impossible to keep clean. Black shows every speck of dirt and every smudge, scratch, nic, whatever. It is IMPOSSSIBLE to keep clean. I owned one black car...never again.
Black looks best when clean (for 5 minutes, standing still)...but unless you are looking for a full time job as a personal detailer for your car, just get a different color. They all look good. |

A good installer Xpel, don't leave lines. The hood he tucks it in.Also with the fenders. No lines anywhere.I am talking doing A full hood. |
Everything I own is black. And, I live in Florida......... Some pretty sorry excuses listed.
|
Lame poll. Yawn
|
Black is beautiful, but I'd go with AW to accentuate the black accents.
|
Black will show every fine scratch, mark , swirl, you name it. To keep that car swirl and scratch free, you need a porter cable or flex and a good supply of menzerna.
Be prepared to become a detailer in your spare time, unless of course you are not bothered by these things. Black cars that are not well cared for, end up looking like crap. |

Very nice car. But you have to admit it takes work to keep it looking as sharp as your's does, unless its a garage queen that is always covered up.
Yes you are correct, black is a hard color to keep clean, I do have a garage, and I just love to keep wax on it .., it makes it a joy to keep wiping it down, due to the fact I just love the color of black.., 😎 |

I will say, to your point, that my Hellcat is a deeper, darker and more pure shade of black than my Z06. |
Black is indeed great looking, however I have loved the Arctic White, Carbon Flash combo since day one after the C7 was released. As mentioned earlier, I have never been a fan of white cars in the past, however with the C7 design, it just works.
This car is pure sex on wheels. Love the lines. (Photo courtesy of other forum member) http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/r...psvconrvki.jpg |

Black or White

Both colors look great on the C7. Because I live in Vegas, white is the best choice for me--Does not show the dirt and the swirl marks--Plus it is cooler in the 110 plus temps during the summer.

White...with the black wheels and red interior to match the brake calipers.
|
Nothing looks better than black when its clean, but that only lasts about 5 minutes after you wash it.
Black takes much more effort to keep the paint looking good, as every little scratch and swirl mark shows. White covers up imperfections, requires a lot less maintenance to keep it looking good, and repaired rock chips, imperfections, etc. are much harder to find on white. |

I'm sure a spotless electric wash/rinse + hot air dryer combo can be the cure for the dusty black car blues.
|
Don't get me wrong,I've had white cars. They look good. But you put a recently waxed white car next to A recently waxed black car and the black car wins every time.
