Exhaust leak?

Does it sound like my headers are leaking at the block or is it just me being paranoid? Maybe it's just engine noise is more noticable with lt's but in low gear around 2k sounds like alot of pulsating noise while driving. Can u tell anything from the vid?

Hard to tell in a vid, i've found the easiest way to find a exhaust leak, use smoke

So how exactly do you do that?

Start the car, get a source of smoke, as simple as a cigarette or a machine made for this procedure. Hold the source up to the exhaust system at the areas prone to leaks and watch for the smoke to blow around.
Goggle it there's YouTube vids if it's hard to visualize

How 'bout one of them incense sticks? They should work well.

I didn't think about that... thats a good idea. I don't smoke but I could prob stand to light a cigar and blow some smoke in there.

From the video, I would say no...

Do you hear anything while on the highway with a constant RPM?

On the highway at higher speeds, no. Its when im cruising around town at slower speeds and around 2 or 2.5k rpms it just noisier than what I think ut should. Could just be engine noise that I am mistaking for an exhaust leak but I can't really tell. I'm going to try that smoke test this weekend.

I don't hear anything abnormal. Did you just install the headers? You will hear more internal engine noise than stock with headers.

Sounds normal to me. An exhaust leak will be most noticeable when the engine is cold (before the metal heats and expands) and will make a ticking noise, like a lifter. Putting a rag in the exhaust pipes is one way to find and exhaust leak. Be careful, of course. Here is an article on exhaust leaks: https://www.yourmechanic.com/article...haust-manifold
