Low Profile Floor Jacks

I hate the search function on these sites! LOL

I am looking for something to just jack my C6 up to take the wheels off to clean them, not much else other than to lift the front of my Zero Turn mower to changethe blades. I have access to a lift for "major" lifting. I was looking at the from Harbor Freight. What say ye? Yay, or Nay?

Last week I picked up the harbor freight 3 ton, rapid pump, low profile steel jack for $82.00. it replaced my 30 yr old floor jack that recently stopped working. I have used the harbor freight jack a few times and works very well.... just make sure you bleed the air and top of the fluid prior to using it.

I've used this low profile jack for about 7 yrs now with no problems. It is heavy and pricey, but it has the longest reach of any floor jack on the market.

Does anyone know if the HF low profile jack reaches the rear end or do you have to get the long reach jack.

I paid out the arse for a Matco low profile jack, and it's a pile of crap. I should have known when it said made in China.
Had I paid $300 less, I might like it more...

That is the very jack that I use for mine.

I have that exact one...find their $59.99 coupon and it is quite a deal. Pretty good Chinese jack. Compliments my heavy 3-ton jack when I just want to throw a light weight jack under the car (or mower). Daddy don't need no $400 floor jack.

I have a similar HF jack in the 2ton version with 18 1/4" maximum lift. It has worked flawlessly for me for the past 6 years. It easily fits under the side of the car to jack it up using jacking pucks. It also fits easily under the rear of the car to raise both rear wheels off the ground. It does NOT fit under the front, because of the air dam. I drive the front of the car up onto home made ramps to be able to fit the jack under the front of the car. Although it is made from aluminum, it is heavy at 45 lbs.

Take a look at the Ranger RFJ-4000AL by BendPak. Engineered in the USA :flag:, but built in China (I think) which is probably the best you can hope for. It has double-sealed hydraulics and a double-plunger pump assembly. Should last longer than those with a single seal and single plunger. You get what you pay for.

Not quite. :D

But, it is low enough and long enough that you can reach the rear cross-member from the rear of the car or the front from the front of the car (Corvette).

I have 2 HF 2 ton low profile long reach jacks bought at different times. Had to return one before I used it because I had to tighten the release knob with 2 hands before it would hold pressure. I checked the 2nd one before I left the store  They have worked great.

I have used the harbor freight jacks for years without issue

CadVette 05-26-2016 04:06 AM

I got the 2.5 ton Harbor Frieght jack for $150.00. I went for the one with the longer arm so I can raise the vehicle higher. If you use floor jacks a lot the only way to go is the $800.00 to $1000.00 ones made in the U.S.A. That's for professional everyday use though, but the added bonus is you can just replace the seals in them instead of throwing the jack away.

AVOID Craftsman. I bought the 3 ton, 24" jack and regret it. It leaks and needs constant o-ring replacements. What did I expect for a POS made in China. Craftsman sold out...

iv had this very jack for about 8 years and it works flawless.

HF FTW, everyone I know has them. If you pay more than the HF jack price, its just for a fancier sticker and to make yourself feel good......most tools are made in China now...
