Reminder to clean your inline Meth filter...

Hey Guys, I was having an issue with my pump/controller, and Julio asked me when the last time I cleaned my inline brass mesh filter, let's just say I was over due...

It was pretty clogged, used a freakin pressure washer to clean it, all good!!

The car really likes Meth, even if it goes just a bit rich, you can feel the TQ! Went for a VERY long Canyon run yesterday, 100 degrees out on some of the ride. After almost 3 straight hours of driving, not a single glitch, she ran like a champ!!

Thanks for the heads up.

What does it get clogged with ?

skull 06-06-2016 12:56 PM

Any sort of dirt that got into the tank or came from the jug you had the alcohol in

marco383 06-06-2016 01:01 PM

Where is it usually located, and what does it look like?

skull 06-06-2016 02:07 PM

It is a big brass piece that'll be somewhere in line between the pump and where it'll go into the charge pipe.

Thanks for jumping in, and yes it can get pretty clogged over time...

I personally think it took out my last pump...

I'll take one tomorrow, but just follow the line back from your nozzle until you come to the filter, it's got to be tween the pump and the nozzels...

How did you realize it wasn't spraying?

skull 06-09-2016 09:38 PM

skull 06-09-2016 09:40 PM

ok cool. I know when i'm boosting it goes red then to green.

Juhatee 06-14-2016 01:43 AM

Most of the cheap kits only turn the light green when the pump is commanded so you can not tell from the light if your line is clogged.

So the only way to tell is to see if afr goes lean or if you have a flow indicator in the line.

Checked mine today after almost 10 years spotless. Not even a dot of anything. Not sure if it's the use of the washer tank, or only using VP meth

I've used meth in various cars over the last 20+ years...and never had an issue of anything clogging. And never had a filter.

That's why I was wondering what on earth is clogging them !
