Farewell to C6

After many years of various Corvette ownership I will be after Thursday for the first time in nearly 20 years...no longer a Corvette owner.

I to some committed a sacrilege. I traded my 2005 c6 MN6 with 13k for a very nice 2012 Camaro ZL1. I got the Camaro for a very good price, black loaded and only 26k one owner . I guess that I will venture over to the Camaro Gen 5 forums soon, and instead of the yearly treks to Carlisle every August, I will be heading down in June to the GM Nationals. at Carlisle. I do not regret this decision, and took a long test drive in the ZL1 and it is a beast when you step on the gas and that supercharged 6.2 spins up. But is very docile and comfortable in normal driving. I like it!:D

I will miss the good feedback, informative info, advice as well as the great laughs, and feel like we are like our own "internet" family. BUT! I will not be leaving the CF altogether, but will still be lurking on C6 general and of course Off topic. Take care all of you, best of health and prosperity to all my fellow forum members, its been a great ride....

Surely you knew it was coming ; )

Good luck with the new ride! Those ZL1 and 1LE Camaros do look pretty appealing!! Especially when you have 1 or 2 kiddos at home that can't go with dad in the Vette!!

Don't let the door hit you in the ass! Only kidding. Good luck! Enjoy the new ride!

enjoy

like many Vette owners, the Camaro is a kissin' cousin worth look and a good buy but I couldn't get used to the view out from the driver's seat; other than that it's a fine piece of work, best of luck.....

I tried for 2 weeks to strike up a deal from an owner here in OHIO on this 2013 ZL1. Beautiful 6 speed car with only 2,200 original miles. In the end he decided to keep it and I ended up buying my current 2010 GS vert. Pretty sure I'd have been happy no matter which way I went. The ZL1's are great cars.

Sorry to see you go, but I think you'll be happy with your choice. Having both, a C6 & 2013 2SS RS, I can say IMO although they are totally different vehicles, they are both a lot of fun to own & drive.

UPDATE! Just get back from my friend Mike (the dealer) the ZL1 deal went South... The car was a transfer from another dealer that Mike deals with quite a bit, and there was some kind of unresolved title issues on the car, so Mike transferred it back to the other dealer and didn't make the purchase. (LONG story)

But it all worked out well. I ended up taking my first choice before the ZL1 appeared, and I took a nice long test drive in it and when the dust settled it came out to pretty much an even swap. (he already has a buyer for my 05) This car Mike owns outright and the original owner is a in law of his as well. Same color, black;same year 2012. Camaro 2SS RS loaded MINT 25k on the odometer with the 6.2. Still plenty of power (enough for me) and great ride. Will post pics after Thursday when he goes through it and changes oil filter etc., and has Scott, his detail guy do it up nice for me and I swap him for the 05.

I rented a camaro last week. Just for kicks I sat in the back. I'm 6 foot tall. There's no leg or head room.

A small kid might fit in the back; but I would not buy a camaro over a C6.

I don't plan on sitting in the back

Your single too now in addition to being vette less.
Back seat dating I suppose was the decision tree factor.
