2009 c6 ls3 swap

Hello All, I have a 2009 c6 with an ls3, I would like to replace the ls3 with a lsx376 b15, has anybody done this swap? will all the sensors (cam, crank and knock) install in the lsx as they did on the ls3? is there anything else that I should know before purchasing the crate engine? Thanks all your help is very much appreciated.

I don't know anything about engines, so I can't help you. What's wrong with the original LS3? For the amount of money that the LSX376 b15 crate engine cost, couldn't you rebuild or have the LS3 improved to out perform it? It shows to have 473 HP. That's only 37 horsepower over stock?

Sorry, just asking.

If the stock LS3 in our 2009 goes south on me, I'd be tempted to get one of the other LS3 engines that make a bit more power. But someone pointed out that those crate engines may be rated with an open exhaust or other "cheater" installations, because they are not used in a factory car; so the power increase may not be a much as you'd expect.

:iagree:

If it's really dead, find a good performance shop and rebuild it. Much cheaper, and you can mod it out to make it better than the LSX motor (also much cheaper).

It is iron and made for a blower which will be heavy on the front end. It should bolt right in and work. If it is dry sump you will need an oil tank.
