2006 z51 question

Working with a seller and trying to determine if his 2006 has a z51 package. I asked for a pic of the glove box code sheet, waiting for that. In the mean time it has the "for looks only" cross drilled rotors as a visual confirmation and also the sport seats (perforated) which is my understanding came on z51 packages. Any other visual clues to look for while I wait for code confirmation?

The seats are not part of the Z51 option. Aside from the rotors there is nothing you can see on the outside.

Mine is 2006 with the Z51 performance package. The easiest visual signs it has the package are the cross-drilled slotted rotors. Of course, the owner could have upgraded the brakes and rotors. Z51 is a performance package; the seats are part of the trim level package. If they are sports seats, but there is no HUD, it has the 2LT trim package; if it has the HUD, it has the 3LT trim package.

The Z51 option also included a separate oil cooler. It's a small radiator that is mounted ahead of the coolant radiator. And the outboard rear suspension links have grease fittings....should be greased at each engine oil change.

If the car is a manual 6 speed, the radiator will have 2 cooler tanks on both sides (the ends) with steel lines attached to them. The Z51 has both a engine oil and transmission oil cooler.

The separate oil cooler started in later models, the OP is looking at a 2006, same as mine...

Just confirmed the z51 package

Same optioned car as mine, the HUD is neat...
I see a J55, that could of been a stand alone brake option in other cars.

Seller is asking 23,000. Has 66,000 miles, we have confirmed z51, black paint, 3rd owner, LG long tubes and corsa exhaust, vararam cold air. Claiming in put down 410 to the rear wheels on a recent Dino run.

Not a bad price.

That is a good price. He has $3000 plus tied up in the exhaust, headers and vararam.

Can't trust the HUD. Mine is a 1LT Z51 with a HUD.

That is certainly doable.

I sent the seller a quasi offer after he asked me what I was looking to spend. He's two hours away so I'm trying to arrange to meet half way or so to look at it. The distance isn't that far there is just no interstate to get to where he's at...all highway driving.

So is mine. Anybody know what the HUD code is? I suppose mine could be an add-on, but everything looks factory.

The point I was making is - I installed a factory HUD in my 1LT. Many have. So, looking for a HUD won't necessarily give you the correct factory LT.

It is a 3LT car. It says so on the sticker you posted. HUD came from factory.

Z51 sway bars are bigger in diameter than standard.

BWF07 06-26-2016 08:33 AM

Z51 packaged did not come with cross-drilled and slotted rotors, only cross-drilled. If the one you are looking at has the drilled and slotted they have been added,

Thank you for this. I noticed the zerc fittings on my '08 Z51 while doing some work on the rear and was thinking wtf? The last car I owned that had zerc fittings was my 1970 Nova.
