OEM Fire Extinguisher - Anyone Installed This?
 

I was browsing through a parts catalog and came across what seems to be an oem bracket and extinguisher for much cheaper than the aftermarket ones - part number 22851772.

Google doesn't show me anything about this. Is it legit (mounts right up), and where does it mount?

I keep a small one in my back cubby. See no need to mount one outside where it is visible.

Yeah I saw the Saudi thing too - I assume this was an option for export cars, hence why there's no info on it for us on this side of the pond.

But I don't see why it wouldn't work, just wondering if anyone has this or has even seen it - seems like a great price @ ~ $35 including extinguisher instead of $90 for the bracket alone...

Cool find. Some fire extinguishers have expiration dates, wonder if it's still good.

Good point. My local dealer in Toronto recognized the P/N but is unable to order it. I emailed Patrick @ Cultrag - his site also shows it for ~35$ and goes right to the checkout page so it appears to be in stock.

Will provide an update when I hear back if nobody has other experience to chime in with.

Just FYI - Patrick at Cultrag replied to me and said this seems to be a new P/N so they don't have further info on it. Also not available for them to order.

I find it strange that a new P/N would come out for this item on the C6.. but anyway it looks like we're stuck with the aftermarket options for now.
