Purchase made....

Thanks to all the helpful info I have received here and a deal I could not walk away from I picked up my 1990 Red ZR1 # 0106 30500 miles Saturday and drove it 100 miles home. Now let the fun begin....Vacuum pump needs replaced, headlights need repaired, fuel gauge needs fixed, Boise needs work. Good thing there are great people and info on here and I can turn a wrench some. Proud to be a member of the ZR1 group.

Congrats! Very early 1990.....sweet.

I recommend that you also register with the ZR-1 Net Registry forum at
http://www.zr1.net/forum/index.php

Taking the additional step of becoming a member of the ZR-1 Net Registry will entitle you to even more benefits and help to support the only organization dedicated exclusively to the ZR-1 Corvette.

I too just got my ZR with some of the same minor issues. My Bose is shot too. After trying a new cdm I'm going to use a bypass harness. I will send the head unit and cdm off this winter to be overhauled. I can switch back later if I want. The cdm is a bit of a pain.

I'm going to work on my fuel gauge after the stereo is done. I've fixed the lcd display and fx3 ride control so far thanks to forum searches and help.

Good luck and please share your findings. I have a pack of resistors to check the fuel gage and a new gasket. I'm hoping that cleaning the contacts fixes it all which seems to work for many.

Welcome to CF.
Turning wrenches is half the fun

I have 1990 #72 and 1990 #3032 which is the last 1990 sold to public

Check around before you pay $300+ vacuum pump. The same pump for a different GM vehicle can be found for around $110. Google the pump for a KODIAC KICK I think what it is. I got one $116 shipped to my house. For a 90 the electrical plug is different but if you don't want to splice, cut any wires TERMINAL SUPPLY has OEM GM connectors you can use to make a sub harness.
