2004 Pace Car 1 of 22?

So I was attending a car show this past weekend and there was a white 2004 C5 convertible present. The display board the owner had stated it was a 2004 Pace Car and being only 1 of 22 made. I had never heard of this, and didn't want to challenge the owner. But from what I can tell with some quick google searches they never made any replicas of the 2004 Indy Pace car for sale to the public. However one article stated that some owners have gone through the hassle of recreating them.

The official 2004 Indy Pace car was white and blue. This particular model was all white but had the flag graphics. I'm guessing this owner just thought it was cool, but is there anything truly to the "1 of 22" claim? Sorry didn't get any pictures of it. The same car show company is hosting another event this weekend, maybe I will see it there.

Not necessarily just for Corvettes alone, but almost every year the Indy 500 is held in the "modern era" there have been "Festival" or "Parade" cars of either the pace cars themselves or support vehicles. It's not simply limited to Indy either, as other major automotive events like the Daytona 500 sometimes have similar cars. These type cars in themselves often do not see pacing duties, hence why they often get disseminated to the public since there is no safety equipment to remove or deal with. They get used a little bit for parades and such, and then are returned.

The good thing is that often - at least in the case of Indy used festival or parade cars - these cars are fairly well documented, attributing to their later value.
