Hot Dragstrip Action: C7 Corvette Z06 Versus Lamborghini Gallardo
https://www.corvetteforum.com/wp-con.../Capture-1.png
With proven performance names like AMP behind the Z06 and Underground Racing behind the Lambo, you just know that this race won't take very long. Read the rest on the Corvette Forum homepage. >> |
However, it quickly becomes clear that the Z06 has a little more muscle than the Lamborghini. The TTG ran over 173 mph to the C7Z's 148 mph. S. |
Prettttty sure I know owner of this vette.. He's a GM for local Chevy dealer that sold me my Z51 couple months back. Tried to get to take his for test drive.. But didn't happen.
Over 1100hp, all sorts of craziness under the hood that I don't think I'm at liberty to share. |
Damn, they both haul the mail. That lambo mph is impressive. The Z was sleeping at the tree.

The Gallardo is a 6-Speed 2R owned and driven by Micah at Advance Diesel and Motorsports down here. Sixty was around 2.2 and he was running around 130mph at the 1/8. It's tough launching a big turbo 6-Speed with no two-step.
The C7 Z is owned by Skip and built by AMP. It's procharged and automatic. Its the current 1/4 C7 Z record holder at 9.3x and the current 1/2 mile record holder at 183. bac22: the Gallardo made it to the finish line first and won while the Vette's elapsed time to the finish line was quicker. [QUOTE=bac22;1592730376]Yeah, I'm a bit confused by this, if the Lambo was doing 173MPH at the line how was the vette at 148MPH able to beat it in the 1/4 mile time wise? I'm not a 1/4 mile racer so I don't know if time/mph are related in 1/4 runs?[/QUOTE
The corvette had a lower et because it had a quicker acceleration early in the run when compared to the lambo but latter in the run the lamba was pulling harder and out mph the vette. The lambo has lots of power as shown by the 173 mph. |
The bigger question is...how much power is in the Lambo if it's running 173mph quarters?!!! That's insane...1100whp Vette and still didn't crack 150mph...The Lambo was 25mph faster on a soft launch!! WTF! 1600whp?

The lambo has lots of power as shown by the 173 mph. The Lambo had a 095 reaction time to the Vettes 748 (top of board at finish line after start) that is a .653 deficit that he left on the table. That doesn't equate to deducting that from any ET, only to the time to the end of the finish lights. ET is from broken light to broken light, has nothing to do with reaction time. Keep in mind the tree going green only tell you you can go now without jumping (relighting). it does not start any timing other than reaction times measurements. |

WTF? Fact is the time starts when the car leaves and breaks the stage light, not when the tree goes down. Therefore, as what happened here, the Lambo cut a good light,(reaction time) while the Vette slept at the light. The winner is always the car to get to the end first. The vette ran an honest 1/4 mile time that was quicker than the Lambo, but he lost the race. Rematch with both reacting and launching equally, the Vette should win, with the Lambo closing in on him at the top end, finish line.
