Rally trim ring question 1972

I know what to look for in regards to the back side configuration and location but on the outside did the early ones have the little Ridge cut into them or were they smooth?

Alan have any pics?

My late production 72 has the ridge.

Hi da,
As mg said the rings had that gentle ridge in them on the outside where the flat outer flange makes the turn towards the deep hub.
There are some rings around (I see them on Corvettes on occasion) that don't have that ridge. For some reason I think they may be a mopar (?) ring.
Regards,
Alan

The smooth ring. They're easy to spot if you're looking for them.
