Just installed silvertown white lines on my 72 in 225/70/15.

Really nice ride not as reaponsive as my 16" TTII
Kumho combo. But considering how i use the car its really nice to drive. Still wondering if I should have tried some Kelsey bias plys. I really like the old school look.

You did the right thing if you drive your car at all. I have repro Goodyear Wide Treads on my 72 and I am about to ditch them for some radials.
I really like the way they look but I don't even like to drive the car anymore with them on there.

For someone who remembers what it was like to drive on bias-ply and belted tires the reproduction tires aren't that big a shock.
But for someone used to only modern radial tires it's quite a BIG shock. Modern tires are terrific.
The reproduction tires certainly change the appearance of the car… a few folks will think for the good, but most folks will want the ride over the looks.

I'm running 17's for performance, but it is hard to beat 15's for looks. I keep debating on going back to Avon CR6ZZ's on15's, but not sure about the price.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Very true about enjoying driving the car, even though I don't drive it much anyway.

I don't mind losing a bit of cornering ability for ride quality (my more modern cars have that covered anyway) but when I first took it for a test drive, it felt so skittish before the tires started setting in that I really hated it for the first 30 minutes then it started settling in.

The specialty tire manufacturers are starting to make radials with the old pie crust bias ply tread pattern, maybe one day we'll get something similar for our cars.

On another note, I was poking around while under the car while changing the tires (btw, quick jack is awesome) and want to change out the end bolts and bushings. I didn't have too much time to try but it looks like the brake line will make it hard to remove the sway bar end link brackets in order to get the things out, I'm wondering if anyone has tips or tricks that would help :cheers:

Those look great, do you still have the PO2's that came with the car?, I put new 225/70R-15's last year replacing the 10 year old radial T/A's that had become quite hard, couldn't believe how the handling was affected by new rubber, Hope you're enjoying it, Car is still looking great!
