Nice. No engine compartment shots? Don't you love it when they stick you under the pine trees?

As requested lol

Pain in the rear getting the needles off/out of the car every 3 minutes, lol but when that Sahara sun came out I just sat under my tree while the people on the field got to bake :) |
Nice to see another Delaware corvette!
Beautiful car. Fran |

Nice car. I would call that paint color RED. Paint looks super and so does the interior.
But, you really need to do some work on cleaning the engine compartment up. :( Your paint and interior look great! A clean engine compartment will make a world of difference. Take it to a quarter car wash. Spray the whole compartment down with GUNK engine cleaner and wait 15-20 minutes. Wash down with Hi-pressure spray from at least 3 feet; take care around small wiring, hoses, etc as they can be damaged with too much water pressure. Do it again, if you need. Then, just work a little bit at a time to paint, clean, polish whatever you need to get it looking like the rest of the car. Not that hard, if you are just patient and stay at it. If black spray paint has been used on wiring & hoses, just use a rag dampened with lacquer thinner to wipe off the insulation/outer surface. That stuff will look new when cleaned up. Put some Nu-Vinyl or Mequiar's protectant for plastics on wiring and hoses if you want show quality appearance. If you do that, your car will get 10 times the looks from folks at car shows and they will all say "WOW". That's when that work is all worth it. To keep it looking like that, use the quarter car wash every month or so. No need for GUNK; just use the pressure-soap setting and wash it down. Then, rinse with low pressure "spot-free" rinse. When it dries on its own, it will be clean and spot-free. :D [Sorry. Just had to say it. Too nice a car for a dingy engine compartment.] |
Actually, I was thinking that engine compartment looked pretty damn clean. Guess I've got a lot of work to do on mine. Looks like quite a few original parts there, nothing wrong with that. The only constructive criticism I would offer is the master cylinder. Paint and polish on that would make a world of difference. Eastwood Brake Gray and just polish up the cover.

Revitup, thats funny you mention it because my dad just said the same thing to me Saturday about the master cylinder. Thanks again all!!

Painted the Underwood yesterday. Used VHT satin black high heat paint. Took about 3 hours to degrease, tape, and spray. I'm very pleased, hope y'all agree
