Popping sound from exhaust
 

I have a16 Z51 A8 . When I get on it -gas it hard I get a backfire sound coming from the exhaust as it shifts in the trans, Wondering if this is a bad thing . Does it need to be seen at shop . I haven't done this very often as the car only has 2600 miles on it . Got to feel it sometimes . HAHA your imput is wecome Thanks

Absolutely normal, nothing to worry about.

Performance shift active, it's a good thing.
No need to go to the shop.

It's a Great thing! Install a Corsa or Borla x-pipe and it will get even greater.

Mine snap crackles and pops. All normal.

I will called it a brappp rather that a pop but it does actually pop. Love that and have had several compliments from people about the shift pop. Very desirable feature. Only does it mainly on WOT which is often difficult to find a place to do that.

Is it the rev limiter causing the pop or something to do with the direct injector gas system or the way the exhaust system is designed? I have heard it on my car as well. Thanks

All these cars are set up on the "Rich" side from the factory.
