How to know if clutch is going out?

I have heard there is no adjustments on the C5 clutch. Bought my C5 FRC last year with receipts of new tranny installed just over 9k miles ago but no info on clutch. They could have used the existing good clutch. It seems though that it engages close to the top of the petal. Not sure if that is normal since I cant compare it with other C5's.

I'm no 'wrench', I just drive 'em. ;) But just a thought; have you changed the clutch fluid and ensured that it was bled out? Mine engages fairly close to the floor. There is no adjustment on 'em that I know of.

I'm sure folks with a LOT more knowledge than me will chime in shortly.

Edit: I believe if the clutch was going out, slipping would be the major symptom.

The pedal concern is not the clutch itself but friction material from the disc that has worn off getting on the shaft the throw out bearing slides on. In most cases getting the fluid flushed a couple times helps.
The clutch grabbing high could be a sign of a worn disc but if it is not slipping don't concern yourself with it. When it starts to slip you know it is time.

Don't know why that posted twice.

I spent $1000 in parts and $1500 in labor because I was told the noise I was hearing and the vibration I felt was from a bad clutch. New clutch and new torque tube rebuild later, still have the same issue. :willy:

Turns out is was my wheel bearings (or so I am told).

Flush it, way cheaper
