Any reason to stay away from 2014 model year?

Considering jumping into a 2014 Z51. Being the first year of the C7, is there any significant reason to stay away? I'd be getting a low mileage car, probably at the end of the 3/36 full warranty but well within the 5/100 power-train warranty. Thanks.

I've owned mine for 3 years and still love it as much as I did the day I drove it off the showroom floor.

It would depend on pricing imo. The 2016 saw significant enough improvements that given the option I would look for one of them before a 2014 unless there was 30k difference in price.

I've had nothing but trouble-free fun in my 2014 Z51. Great car and fun to mod!

What is not to like?

Mine has 24k on it and not one problem .
And I've owned several vettes including the Z06
It's an amazing car. No disappointments.

I'd consider a 16 if I could find one at the 20% off price that was around a month ago. I don't see any aggressively priced 16 Z51 Manuals around now.

This is great to see. Thanks.

I love my base 2lt stingray. 7mt was a bit finicky when I first got it, but now it's smoother since I have put more miles on it.

did a few recalls, service bulletins, lot of aesthetic mods, plenty of car washes /wax sessions. Love the car since the day I got it.

even I know there are newer models, it's not enough to make me go dump a bunch of money on the virtually the same car all over again.

i love my 7 speed and feel honored to drive a piece of American heritage at my age.

Most welcome. You will NOT be disappointed. Looks the same as new ones and the acceleration? Ahh so good.

C7HOORAY 10-10-2016 10:27 PM

Based on forum comments, 14s appear to be actually more reliable than later years.... for example, the 14 6 speed auto is doing fine as miles accumulate....the A-8, not doing so well.

My '14 at 25K has been "Toyota reliable". Couple silly recalls but that's it.

Being a radio disc jockey for almost 40 years, I love the HD Radio in the 2014. This is the only year it was offered.

Three years and 26,5000 miles later zero problems. Go for it... :)

Vetteram 10-10-2016 10:35 PM

Love my 2014, enjoy every minute in it, when I'm not in it I'm thinking about where can I go next. Since I've had it has been in the service dept at my local dealer less than 3 hrs. I love this car! Now has 16500 miles of smiles.

nyciti 10-10-2016 10:43 PM

Remember the 14's have the old longer warranty.

trakmnky 10-10-2016 10:54 PM

24k and still Sreeams

Installed an e-force supercharger on mine shortly after I bought it and haven't looked back since.

Car is soooooo much fun to drive!

Only bitch I have is the 7mt. Really wish they would have stayed with a 6sp manual. Installed a mgw shifter this weekend and it's A LOT better now but that extra gate is still a PITA.

owc6 10-10-2016 10:57 PM

I love mine, and I'm glad I have an A6.

Foosh 10-10-2016 11:07 PM

Another happy '14 owner here. I haven't had a single problem.

0 problems from my 14 non-z51 auto coupe. I invested in the GMPP, but the car is solid, and I have not had to use it. All aspect of the functionality and quality are excellent.

davidtcpa 10-11-2016 07:01 AM

No problems with mine at all. But I only have 9500 miles. I need to drive it more.
