I use Starbrite Star Tron (the blue stuff) in my I/O boat. Its usually more expensive than Stabil (the red stuff), but its more concentrated and one 8oz bottle of Star Tron will winterize my 62 gal tank. I always fill the tank to the brim with gas that has no ethanol.

For all my yard equipment and cars in storage over the winter where I run 10% ethanol gas, I always fill the tanks completely after adding Stabil. Make sure to run the engine with stabilized gas so it is pumped through the everything.

The key is to either fill the tank completely before storage, or empty it (and the carb bowl) completely. If you leave a tank half full over the winter, the moisture in the air above the gas will condense out and you'll end up with water in your tank. And if your tank is metal, you risk the top half of the tank inside rusting (not good). My $0.02 worth. Bill

FWIW, I have used Stabil in my generator and lawnmower fuel jugs for years. I also use it in the Corvette regularly because sometimes it sits for long periods of time when I hadn't planned to let it sit but other times I'll burn a tank of fuel over a weekend and the Stabil is wasted. Anyway, I haven't had any fuel related problems over the years.
