2012 C6 base, M6 Trans brace comparison
 

Looking at both ECS and DTE for a a trans brace, figured it would be good insurance. Car will be somewhere around 760-820hp and want to select the one that's easiest to install and pretty sure both work equally well. If one works better than the other it probably only comes into play at higher power ratings.

I looked at a thread for a DIY install for the ECS and the guy removed the cradle and pulled out the halfshafts. Not sure if that was needed but seems a little extreme. The ECS brace also requires cutting off the bosses on the rear, another PITA.

A YouTube video for the DTE shows a guy installing the brace in about 2 hours, didn't touch the cradle, half shafts, or exhaust system. Steel brackets are notched out for the bosses.

Is the DTE easier to install or am I missing something

There is no cutting of bosses to install an ECS trans brace on your C6Z, they are basically identical to install. We do not drop cradles or anything of that nature, but removing the exhaust helps a lot.
