4 center Wicker bridge bolts?
just ordered the oem center "wicker" spoiler bridge part from GM (stage 2 to stage 3 rear spoiler).
GM bolts are $20 my cost. has anyone figured out what's so special about them vs ones off the shelf? is it the finish? the shape of the head or WHAT!:willy: I cannot for the life of me figure this out. is it a custom length or something? i'm gonna bring my existing bolts to the hardware store and match them up. so confused by this? thanks in advance for any assistance. |
Center bolts
First of all the eBay center wicker is $159.00 and almost identical. Great quality too and comes with the gromets as well.
second of all, I used 4 Ace hardware black torx bolts almost identical with 4 black painted washers. Many Ace hardware s don't stock them but I still have some if you need them. These when installed look identical. let me know Charlie |
....I just lost one...ordered from my dealer and he warned me it was a $30 part - there is nothing special....it does have a mushroom top, & it is a torx head but that's it - you should be able to find something close - I think a vendor on the forum (cultrag?) has them slightly cheaper
1 thing that I need but can't find, is the oval shaped rubber spacer that fits between the wicker bill and spoiler where the bolt goes thru - GM doesn't even show it in the blow up picture of parts - I'll have to improvise, but wanting the original part is a feeling that never goes away :) |
I checked Ace out here in Vegas . but they don't have them. Must be a different region vendor . You can always try these. Same head size.

I ordered the eBay wicker as well for $159. Perfect fit and OEM quality as stated. The OEM bolts all come chipped and really don't look good. I went with the Amazon hardware and added black anodized washers. I like the look better actually.

thanks CVP. I just ordered 6 from Amazon (Long) see when they come in how it looks. Can you post some more pics of your protruding washers? I think i like them but not 100 lol..
Chucky Thanks, but keep em maybe you'll need them at some point! |
I bought the short ones too so all the hardware would match. I also recommend the washers as the bolt head on these is small. It will hold the center wicker, but you'll want a washer of some kind.

CVP33, questions... any benefit to going with the lightly tinted wicker bill as opposed to
the darker one? Also, do you know where to locate the OEM bolts cheaper than dealer, as my car came with the stage 3 set up.....I asked bc you appeared to have done your due diligence relative to these items. |
I lucked out with the lightly tinted unit. Didn't know there was a darker version. Can't imagine that the visability is great with the darker tinted unit. In fact it must be awful, especially at night. I know, I know, who cares what's behind you.
I used the link below as I always have for GM parts. Used code ctsvowner for another 5% off. It's really Perry Buick out of Norfolk, VA and they are very aggressive on pricing. Still paid $88. I had 3 sets shipped and 2 returned. All chipped. I still have a set if someone wants to buy them for $65. You will need to touch them up though. http://stores.revolutionparts.com/ge...rtsonline.com/ |
I may take them off your hands. I believe we spoke before on the CTSV forum prior to my purchase of the Z. Does the set consist of everything I need to bolt up the center wicker bill?

Yup, 4 longer bolts. That's it.

They are the ACS rear diffuser fins. They simply screw into the rear fascia.

on that site there are bolts that look very similar to the oem one. But they are also "stepped". Maybe a call or send them one and see if they can match it
|
The four bolts holding the front splitter winglets is the same type for the wickerbill.
They are long but you can cut them to the right length. They are also a perfect match color-wise. |
Here fellas. I live on Ebay so these were eany to find. Got mine. A steal.

Not OEM, but a decent price.
