7" Racestars up front on Z51? Anyone?

I have a hell of a deal on a set of 17X4.5 Racestars with a -10.5 offset. Curious if they will clear up front. Anyone ???

Update- So I called Race Star and they informed me that while they will bolt up, they stick out to far and the moment you slam on your brakes they will kit the fenders. Race Star just released a 18X5 that will work and they will start shipping in 2/17. I hope this helps anyone in the future.

E Mail Mike @ Racestar.

He is quick to answer all of my E Mail questions.

A few months ago he did mention that Racestar was working on an 18 in. front skinny for the C7.

Keep me in the loop if you do hear anything.

Not sure about the Z51 but they cleared my Base Model brakes just fine.

I have the 18x10.5 rears for mine.
Good to know the 17's fronts fit the base brakes.
Thanks!

Get the 18x10.5 wheels with the 76 ET.

You will also need the lugs and hub centric rings to match.

Beefcake Racing has them at 20% off right now.

I'm running the M/T SS 285-40-18 on mine.

It's like 1/4 in. taller than stock.

Damn I am so confused. Race Star said no way yet here are pictures of them clearly working on your car. Well they did say they would clear the brake calipers the issue is that they stick out a little too much and we'll hit the fenders during hard braking now I really want to test fit them and see if it is that close

I just looked the wheel up on the Racestar 2017 catalog.

Fits base and Z51 brakes.

#92-745245 DSD which is for the black wheel.

17x4.5 in.

Backspace is 2.50 in. Offset is -18 ET.

Bam!!

I have not had any issues with the fronts rubbing or hitting the fenders. I have driven on this setup on short out of town trips my Tuner/Builder (HPA) is in DE and I'm in MD.

I'm running the M/T SS 285-35-18 on mine.

It's like 1/4 in. taller than stock.

I switched out M/T 305/40/18 to a shorter tire Hoosier 315/30/18 with the 76 ET and no rubbing hooks great. The Hoosiers are also much lighter than the M/T tires.

The best thing about running the 17x4.5's they only weigh about 17lbs.

Mike Jesse 01-11-2017 04:04 PM

Installing the skinnies should knock a tenth off easy.
At least it did on my 2 previous cars.
Good info on the Hoosiers.

I just saw your deal you were speaking of. Better get them before someone else and they are near to you

teddyca 01-16-2017 08:15 PM

I know but my only concern is it looks like what Jesse posted up and what are for sale differ. The offset is completely different I would hate to buy and they not work for me.

teddyca 01-16-2017 10:35 PM

Well that was fast. I pulled the trigger and went to pick them up. LOL I will test fit them tomorrow. If not I will make some money. LOL
