Here's the last C3

Looks like this guy has found the last C3 and the owner doesn't know what he has. What would it be worth?

Hard to say. Could have a bit of special interest value if the story of where it went after leaving Bowling Green and where it's been since then could be put together.

Dollar value comes from supply and demand. There is only one "last" C3 but that doesn't mean much if not many people really care about it or will pay a lot for it. Its something of interest but I don't see much more value in it than any other 82. Maybe someone else will.

Gotta wonder where all the C3's are today..My son (a career railroader), sent me this picture the other day..
looks like a bunch of new 1977 or older?? C3 Vettes heading for dealers..Jim

The last '82 was delivered to Howlett Chevrolet in Auburn, KY. From there it passed on to at least two different used car dealers in Bowling Green, KY. It was black with silver leather.

Sunuvagun. Auburn is only a hop-skip-and-a jump down the road from Bowling Green. Destination charges would not have been much.

I wonder if the last C3 is signed by the builders like the 1 Millionth Corvette was.

75s get my vote. All tunnel backs and no YJ8s.
:)

Cool pic, thanks for posting.

My guess is 76 because of the tan color. Not 77 because it looks like they still have the script on the fenders.

Last C3 $$$? That should be interesting to see what it's worth.

I remember years ago they sold the last 67 for big $$$.

Might be a problem though . The Corvette Black Book shows the last C3 to be Serial # 125407 :confused2:

Yep and adds a note that #00017 was not built.

Any more news on Last C3 - the caboose

I ran across this old thread from two years ago. If you look carefully at the picture of the VIN, note that the picture only shows the last 8 digits of the VIN. It does not show the check digit so you cannot run the calculation to confirm it is, indeed, the real last C3. The picture of the car does not show the side so you don't know if the "cross-fire injection" badge is there (but I know that could have been removed or fallen off). The picture does depict a 1980 to 1982 Corvette. The fifth post in this thread (68-427Rich) provides detailed information but I am not sure how 68-427Rich obtained that information. Maybe he ordered a copy of the build sheet from the Corvette Museum as the build sheet would list the selling dealer and the exterior and interior color of the car. Maybe Kentucky keeps ownership data. Does anyone know of the status of this car and whether there is a picture of the complete VIN?

It's a real hoot reading THE IGNORANCE of the posters....NOT ONE of them knows what they're talking about....

I love the line; there were two versions coupe and convertible......

My take...its worth $5-6k.....the thing is in atrocious condition.

In my little world....I would say the LAST MANUAL C-3 would be worth more...much more.

I am going with 75s, right side, middle row, Steel Blue is my car

Greg 05-14-2019 08:52 PM

I agree Mod75. I thought that car looks very much like Steel Blue as well.
'76 Bright Blue and '77 Light Blue and Dark Blue just don't come close.
The clincher is the '75 Apollo jersey pointed out.

Hey, Steel Blue was an excellent but short run color that year, Mod, maybe it's your Vette! :woohoo:
