There is so much embedded history in those photos that it is just mind boggling Thanks for posting.

Absolutely amazing! What makes it better is that it was a Chevrolet!

I love old photos. Can you share a bit of history about your grandfather?

cmonkey713 01-10-2017 11:24 PM

Great pic. I have one with my dad and his 1938 V-8 ford convertible. It would be fun to do a photoshop of dad and the Ford and me and the C-6 Corvette.

My grandfather was born in Georgia in 1900 but grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where my dad was born in 1920. Shortly thereafter, he joined the great migration to the industrial north and relocated in Chicago. My dad used to tell me stories of how his dad was a taxi driver and would often see my dad around town and pick him up and take him home.

He died in 1946 before I had a chance to meet him.

Really love to see history pics on cars and owners; so true what mschuyler and 16/c7z said. And thanks for the history of your grandfather!

Awesome pics Red

Always loved to listen to Grandpa talk about the good old days, sorry to hear yours passed before you had a chance to meet him. Since mine was an old farmer, got to hear a lot more about horse and buggies than cars though.

Thanks again for sharing...
