Just 59 days until April 1st the start of the true drive your cool go fast car season

As I have posted for about the last 5 years April 1st always represents the true official end of winter, where those who are not professional waxers can break out their Vettes and other bad to the bone cool and fast cars on a full time basis, to kick off the new 2017 Driving season.

Sure, you may get 1 or 2 days in the first 10 days of April where you can get a dusting of snow, but if and when that happens (and Al Gore will tell you that's a big if :D), its all melted by the next day and the roads are free of salt from early springtime rain, and we 99.9% of the time are good to go on a full time basis (that's right Len B.), once April 1st arrives. ::thumbs:

April 1st and early spring is always my favorite time of the year because winter is over with and all the bad boy toys come out to play on a full time basis for at least typically 7 months!

Official countdown now just 59 days and counting until April 1st arrives, and the way time is flying by it will be here real quick! :steering::auto::steering:

Mine will likely still be up on the lift come 1 April.... Usually swap my garage setup from winter to summer later in April. At that time I will put the Z06 under the lift and put the snow blowers, roof box and other miscellaneous things on the lift. Also looking forward to pulling the 18" Blizzaks off my S4 and putting the 19" Pilot Super Sports back on!!!!! Between now and then I am hoping for some snow locally so I can get some more snowboarding in!!! Heading out to Vail next week but would like to do some local riding after I return.

Jimmy,

I agree...

I just can't wait. :willy:

I was in my garage earlier, I looked at the cover keeping the dust off and was wondering.

Snow this week-end, maybe... :smash:

Maybe next week-end. :(

I'm hoping to pull the car out the weekend of the 18th in March. Weather be damned. Now I might not drive it on the roads at that point, depending on the salt situation.

Hell, my tulips are coming up already.

Looks like my 2016 Stang GT will come out to play again this weekend (Gotta love it)! The highways still have a little too much salt for the Viper ACR but not the Rustang. :D

57 Days now and counting down until April 1st. :steering::auto::steering:

GET 'EM OUT This Weekend !

Hey fellas, we're in the midst of a historic SNOW DROUGHT !

Chicago's Very Own Weather Guru and Honorary Crew Member Tom Skilling reports...

Since Dec. 19th, the city has measured only 0.6” of snow.

This qualifies as the least snowiest Dec 19th thru Feb 4th period in 117 years dating back to 1899-1900 when 0.3” was logged.

This is 2nd least snowiest mid-winter period on the books dating back to 1884-85 !

If your CAR could talk...

It would say.... LET ME OUT !

So if we do get more snow, these cities will try to use up their salt so they don't have any left over.

WOW, that's awesome and I am not surprised b/c my shovel has only come out 4 times all winter and that was all in early December. This really helps me pass winter quickly especially when I am able to drive some of my fun cars and LORD knows I have been doing that.

Just 55 Days now and counting down until April 1st and only 44 days to the first day of Calendar Spring, March 20th, when most my toys should be out on a fulltime basis (by Calender Spring). :steering::auto::steering:

TOBASCO 02-05-2017 12:03 PM

I still think it is March 1st.

I hope everybody realizes that Tom Skilling controls the weather and wrote the screen play to “Glitter”. I am a big fan of Bozo T Clown too. We went to the show in 1973 or sometime around then.
