Pics of 5mm spacers on my Grand Sport

I recently purchased a 2012 Centennial Edition Grand Sport that came with a set of OEM C7 Z06 wheels. They are pretty similar in width and offset specification to the OEM C6 GS wheels.

Front 19x10 +43 (C6 GS wheels are 18x9.5 +40)
Rear 20x12 +59 (C6 GS wheels are 19x12 +59)

Coming from a Turboed '97 SC300 that has perfectly flush functional stance, i thought the Vette had a very sunken stock stance for a widebody, so I decided to try out some spacers, but really didnt want to change the studs. So I bought some 5mm hubcentric spacers from Motorsport Tech as well as some Extended Thread lugnuts.

Here are a few pics before the spacers:

Now Here are pics after the 5mm spacer install. Its really not a big difference but big enough to look a little better. It would look nicer if i went with a wider spacer in back, but I was scared that i wont have enough stud engagement.

Nice improvement!!

Thanks guys! Thinking of tinting the taillights and side markers, to complete the murdered out look.

what brand are the tires..........don't appear to be Michelins.........

that may have also created the "inset" look........some tires are up to an inch wider than others, just by different brand even in the same sizing....

Looks like continental to me.

Yes, they are Continentals. Only 2 choices when it comes to the 335/25/20 rear tires. I will be going with Michelin PSS when the rears need replacing

Car looks great! Correct size tires will probably give you more of what your looking for though..

I just had the markers for my centennial painted. I bought clear ones and had the body shop paint them as dark as they could and still let light through. Definitely do it.

Do a search for the "official murdered and sinister thread" and you can see tons of pics of blacked out markers on centennials.

So the tires are the recommended 285/30/19 and 335/25/20

i think its because the Continentals must run narrower then the Michelins thats why the 335 looks stretched on a 12 inch wheel.

I ordered some Gunsmoke tint from Lamin-x so Ill be doing the tails and side markers as soon as the product comes in.

And thanks for the info on that thread. Went through all the pages, and there is some great inspiration there!

So update. I ended up getting new wheels for the car for a more flush look. However, I still feel like I need a 5mm spacer on back for better fitment. I cannot use ET lugnuts with aftermarket wheels though :( SO, is it safe to use a 5mm spacer without extended studs or ET lugnuts?

Old thread, but still valid..

Looks better now. Not too much to change out to longer studs, contact DRM for options.

centennialGS 04-20-2020 03:57 PM

Idk if it's necessary to get longer studs with only 5mm.

car is now lowered on stock bolts
