Google LMC5, or have you already installed one?

If you haven't installed the LMC5 yet...

Try turning the wheel REALLY HARD clockwise and turn the key to the ON position at the same time. Only thing that saved me from a tow in the middle of a parking lot after work.

Oh and to mirror the others, get the LMC5. Its a snap to install and also do the brown wire mod.

This works. I put all of my weight on the wheel and clicked the key and the wheel popped free. After that I did the CLB at the time.
For my current C5Z I ordered the LMC5 first thing.

Thant sounds more informed than the advice that saved me, to violently shake the wheel . Screaming and cursing might be optional with the shake, but I throw it in anyway.

I had to take the two torx screws out of the column on my manual vert and tap the housing on the lock - seems the pin gets stuck according to Rich at LMC5 - once you get it unlocked install the LMC5 right away and be sure ti pull fuse 23 from the passenger footwell panel first - do the brown wire mod too - if you call Rich he can walk you thru the entire process including how to get the pin unlocked - he was a lifesaver for me - Compliance Parts

:iagree: 1000%.

Get an LMC5 and install it. And do the brown wire mod explained on page 2 of the install instructions WHEN you do the LMC5 install!!!!!!!!

Your problem started as a low or weak battery or loose or corroded battery connections including at the starter. Those are the MOST COMMON cause of the column lock symptoms. Get the battery checked out. Just because the car can be started does NOT mean the battery has the proper voltage to operate the column lock system. It relies on a minimum voltage level. The starter requires current that can be generated even with low battery voltage.... :yesnod:

This might sound funny but I did the LMC5 a few weeks ago and the MGW shifter last week.
Did the original stock system actualy lock the transmission shifter too, I don't really remember if it locked or not and haven't had the car that long.
