2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport vs. Porsche 911 Carrera S
2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport vs. Porsche 911 Carrera S - Head 2 Head
Only thing that surprised me was which car won the drag race. (Appology if this was posted previously) |
Isn't the Porsche a lot more expensive? Apples and oranges.

The Porsche is like a fine wine...you can appreciate the taste, respect the history and process in which its engineered and presented, pricey of course but worth it...the GS is probably the best craft beer money can buy and you simply can have more fun pounding beers lol

No, the GS is a great Bourbon. Lots of kick, perhaps not the finesse of the fine wine.

Painters tape on the front fenders - LOL! Reviews are what they are - one persons opinion.

According to Car and Driver pricing , the Porsche Carrera S Turbo a $160k vehicle , the Grand Sport $95k. Amazing that the GS was the better handling car, faster on the track even though the Porsche was actually quicker than the GT3 tested by Motor Trend. Pretty amazing vehicle the C7, styling wise, no comparison unless you prefer the dated look that comes with the Porsche logo.

^^^ I like this..... |
Love watching head 2 head. This was a great video.
|
I paid about $65k for my 2LT Grand Sport I could have bought two of them and still had money left for a DD with money left over. I love my car I only have about 600 miles and the more I drive it the more I like it!
|
Love the new 911S, but for $160k I'll take a bare bones GS and a used 997.2 Turbo PDK.
|
Just like the GS in this head to head, the 911 was completely loaded with lots of options many people would never purchase. Not that a 911S is cheap, but they start at $103K. Porsche's just get silly when it comes to pricing once you start loading them up.

I like both cars, but they offer different experiences. Both are fast. Both handle well. When I made my decision between the a C7 and a Carrera S, I figured I could buy a new C7 and have enough left over to buy a mid-priced SUV,as my wife and I wanted an AWD car for the mountains and to take the dog places.
The C7 has not disappointed. I previously owned a Carrera (it was a base 997 model) and a fine car. The Corvette is just plain fun. I love the big V8, the styling, the handling, all of it. You really can't go wrong with either car, but for me it's the C7. Plus, for all the hype about German engineering, I'll put my money with the US guys every time. When they put their minds to it (and they did with the C7) they can't be beat. |
The best line from the head to head is when Johnny stated at the end when he claimed it the winner that the GS is a great car at any price!!!!
...so there you go. bang for buck yes! But regardless the car is f'ing GOOD |
 It really is just that good!

I have the 911 and I must say it is a pretty impressive vehicle. I got it with the PDK and am very pleased with the transmission and the fun factor.
The fit and finish of everything is like no GM vehicle I've seen actually. I've had a ton of new GM vehicles and they do not compare, at all. And the service when you go to a Porsche Dealer is really second to none. This was for either service, sales or whatever you need there. GM Dealers are always coming out with new ideas in service and all that Porsche has been doing for years. GM Dealers will tell you there is no money in selling the GM vehicles so can't spend too much money these days... but if you have to give the cars away maybe you aren't doing so well. Porsche isn't giving any vehicles away and the sheer quality of the vehicle and service is way above. |
