New to me C6

Hello all,

Waiting for my new to me 2008 C6 to arrive from sunny Miami. Bought this silver beauty sight unseen so my tension is high until it shows up and all checks out. Any common issues I need to look for? This is my first Vette but I have owned a Viper and several old school hot rods so working on cars is nothing new. My first to do list is short, lower it and install a Diablosport tune. :flag:

Congrats, however, no questions will be answered until a pic is posted.

I bought a pre-owned 2008 several years ago. Just to be sure and for peace of mind, when I got it home, I changed the oil/filter, the engine air filter, cabin filter and engine coolant.
I am a DIY'er, so doing all of these things myself not only helped me save $$$, but it gave me a chance to spend time with the vette getting to know it a lot better looking things over etc. Other than an annual oil change, I won't need to worry about the filters for awhile. I have never regretted buying the car, as it has been a great car.

Congrats on your C6! I purchased my first Vette 2008 Z06 two weeks ago. Car was located 400 miles south of me in Alabama. I decided to have selling dealership to drop car off a Chevy dealership and have it inspected before I made trip to test drive, used car inspection ran me $99. The inspection report gave me insight of the cars condition, tire tread depth on all tires, rotor measurements, brake pad measurements, all fluid condition and more, they also faxed me the cars history maintenance report by pulling the vin, this was not the same information as the CarFax report. The only issue the retort mentioned was that the wiper blades needed to be replaced. The report was money well spent and I decided to make the 400 mile trip to test drive the car. I knew the second I saw it I had to have it, it was the right car for me 08' Z06 23K on the ODO, silver, Akrapovic full exhaust with carbon fiber tips, K&N air intake, all new tires, chrome spider wheels and not a scratch on the car. I do need to address the LS7 heads, but absolutely stoked about the car.

Nice! Glad to see so many folks new like myself. I would have had to fly there and follow the trailer home. Lol

My wife was nice enough to make the trip with me. We hit the road at 3am and got there by 9am when the dealership opened, they were an hour behind use. a couple hours at the dealership, sign here, here and here, and back on the road for a 7hr trip back home. My wife is awsome:rock:

If that was an option I would have gone to Miami but cost of trip vs shipping was a no brainer.

You could have asked me to check it out for you since I live here, just saying LOL

Yes, Car is scheduled to be here today. I really wanted a GS but I couldn't pass the "deal" on a base C6.

If you like it, that's all that matters. I would have liked to get a Z06 but the fact is I don't have time to track the car, and the speed limits are basically the same everywhere. Not very fast. I also like the smooth body lines of the base car, it just looks more elegant and less aggressive and that appeals to me.

By the look of the other vehicles you posted, you'll be perfectly happy with your vette. No extra brake vents or badges are going to do you much good if you enjoy cruising. The money you didn't spend on a GS can be spent on the 93 octane fuel to get you to the next destination so you can enjoy life, and the car.

Congrats, I too (seems there are 3 of us on this thread alone) just picked up a nice 07 Z06 in machine silver with stripes. Only 15K on the clock and flawless....need to look into the heads but otherwise extremely happy with it and you will be too!
