2007 Coupe 14800 miles - Auto trans. - Silver

Need some advice here. Looking at a 2007 Coupe with the following options: 3LT convenience group and Z51 handling package.
The car is in perfect condition. I was looking at C5 Z06's, but the LS6 engine has the issues with valve train etc....
The LS2 appears to be a bullet proof engine and has similar performance specs. as the LS6, minus the potential problems.
Owner is asking $27,400 for this car and he is the second owner.
Any comments or opinions would be helpful.

I have only had my C6 for about a month so not sure how much I can contribute but so far I love my car, mine is pretty basic 1LT car, the LS2 is pretty bulletproof, one thing to look for is the harmonic balancer, seems to be a fair bit of issues with them. price wise it seems pretty decent, I paid 23k OTD for my car but that included about $1800 in tax, tag, title fees and my car had just under 45k miles on it.

for me it would probably come down to do you want to row your own gears or not and what is available in the used market.

when I got my C6, I had actually went and looked at a C5 the week before but it ended up being sold, even though the dealership said it was still available, I hadn't really considered C6, but drove by a dealer and seen it sitting on the lot, made a deal and drove it home the next day

Not bad

I recently purchased a 2006 base with 41000 miles for 20,500. Sounds like nice car you are looking at.

Overall sounds like a fair price, considering the low miles. I would offer $2-3k less and see what happens. But if it all checks out and is equipped the way you like, buy it and drive it unless you enjoy all the work of shopping (I hate it).

If you can get that car for 27k it would be dealer retail pricing. If you can get it for 26k it would be a fair deal. If you get it for 25k, it would be a good deal. If it's 24k, it would be gold. J/k it would be a great deal.

Good luck

$24k is what you should shoot for. His asking price is high for a 10yr old car so he's probably leaving some wiggle room.

He's asking $27,400. Offer $25,500 and meet in the middle.
If everything checks out settle on the price and enjoy the ride.

I also feel the price is a little high. 2007's usually sell for bargain prices because most buyers lean towards the 2008+ models because of the LS3 and other changes that came with the 2008+ models. Nothing wrong with the LS2, great motor and lots of guys love them, but if buying from a private seller I would think $25k is tops.

Fuel Pump Flange

I did almost the same deal you are looking at, I have no regrets with my 2007 victory red 3LT Z51 with 14K miles. Great car but I would give a big sniff around the rear drivers wheel well, which is where one of two fuel tanks sit. A quick look around for dark spots (gas). Common issues that may not exist at all but at 2007 you are likely out of the 10 year coverage GM is offering and some have paid dearly out of pocket for this required repair. Not trying to discourage at all just a helpful heads up before you commit to any certain one car. Good Luck
