1981 4-speed 57xxx miles in AZ

10 Attachment(s)
Very original AZ title "box A" 57xxx mile car with the 4 speed manual transmission. Always an AZ car. No hit body and pristine frame. Paint is base/clear coat, probably about 8 years old and excellent. Original matching numbers drivetrain. Factory 2.72 axle ratio results in about 2500 rpm at 75 mph. Car is coded as White with Medium Red leather interior. This is a high option car:
AU3 Power door locks
A42 Power driver seat
C49 Rear window defogger
DG7 Electric sport mirrors
MM4 4-speed manual transmission
N90 Aluminum wheels
UM6 AM-FM Radio, etr stereo with cassette
U75 Power antenna
Of course by '81 all Corvettes had A/C, positraction axle, tilt/tele steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, and power windows. Still has the original 24 gallon fuel tank. A/C in this car has been converted to R134a and works properly.
The following parts were replaced last year. Many of them did not need to be replaced but due to the age of this car they were done for reliability purposes.
Universal joints (6)
Heater core
Heater hoses
Radiator hoses
Radiator
Coolant
Thermostat 180 degree
Belts-A/C, alternator, and power steering
Spark plugs and wires
Fuel pump and gas line hose
Battery
Seat belts/shoulder harnesses
Clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing
Flywheel resurfaced
Starter
Exhaust system
Transmission and differential were flushed and filled with Mobil 1 Synthetic gear oil
Power steering flushed and filled
Engine oil is Mobil 1 Synthetic and I add a Zinc additive
I also add a few ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel tank with every fill. This not only keeps the fuel tank pristine but also provides upper cylinder lubrication.
Car is excellent throughout. Adult owned. This is my 14th Corvette.

Nice car. What is "box A"?

TLS_Addict 04-03-2017 03:53 PM

Beautiful car. Good luck with the sale. Fellow member sold his two owner 81 4 speed with 25k miles for $11,000. Hopefully, you can pull more.

Arizona uses box A on a title to show true / actual miles.

Sorry, don't have a lift and you know how low these cars are. Here is one photo I took. Can't see much but underside is original and unrestored. Thanks, Paul.

Don't know what his car was like or how long ago but......NADA shows "average" value at 20k. My car is definitely above average. Dealers are asking low 20's for what are probably average cars. Also haven't seen another one with a 4 speed. So from that my car is a good value. But no big deal........not concerned about selling it.

Beautiful ride

I live in Dewey Az and have an 81' 4 speed. Not even close to being as nice as yours yet. Mine has 85,000 +/- in the A box. I'm looking forward to fixing it up. It's nice to know it will have a decent value when I'm dome

I would be really interested in seeing pics of the underside if you could take it to a local shop, have them pick it up on their lift, then
you can take a bunch of bright, well lit pics and even a short video file. This will more greatly show the overall condition of the car for those who are at a great distance. Hope this helps,
