Was this sourced from gmnavdisk.navigation.com or pirated knock-off site?

I communicated with the seller and agree on a price for the Navdisk with shipping. During our communication I inquired about authenticity of the disc and was assured it was a legit GM disc and not a copy.

I sent the paypal and in the comments wrote-
For the purchase of an authentic GM navdisc. A few hours later he refunded my money and then sent me a PM indicating the refund was due to my comments.

Maybe it was a real disc and he took issue with my comments for some reason, or it was a copy and having placed the comments in the paypal transaction he got nervous and backed out.

I told this guy on two different times I di not get on the gm website.

What you have is someone to get a $2oo.oo disk for half price and that does not happen

This guy is selling a pirated version. I asked if it was real, he said it was real just not purchased on GM website. So basically he is selling a pirated copy for 100 bucks that I can go buy on ebay for $30 bucks.

spirit73 04-14-2017 08:15 PM

As I said before this is not a pirated copy of anything This is just a buyer who is too cheap to buy a $200.00 disk looking for some one to give him one for half price> I have been on this website for over 10 years selling stuff and this is the first person I ever had a problem just someone looking for something for nothing

So, is it a Genuine GM disc or not? Not a copy, but actually produced by GM?

spirit73 04-15-2017 06:40 AM

it is not

I have an 08 and would love to update it to ver 10. But, $180 or even $110 for 2 year old or more updates is not going to happen especially when you can get a Garmin or Tom Tom with LIFETIME updates, traffic and Bluetooth for $150. Just saying.

But you are not selling a $200 GM navigation disc so the "half-price" assertion is incorrect.

You have already stated you did not purchase the disc from the only seller licensed from GM, navigation.com, which means you either purchased an illegal copy or a used disc. Since you have already stated the disc is not a genuine GM disc then that means it must be an illegal copy.

So now we have established that the disc is an illegal copy you are not going to have much luck selling it for your price of $110 when unlicensed copies can be purchased online shipped for $99. I won't list the URL as forum policy prohibits it but googling the OEM navigation disc part # "23286274" will list several sites that offer unlicensed navigation disc copies for sale.

Yes, the OEM navigation cannot compare with aftermarket GPS or even Google Maps on a cell phone but aftermarket units do not integrate with the head's-up display and cell phone map apps don't work where there is no cell coverage.
