Dry Car Wash
I remember reading about a dry car wash and I can't remember
what brand it was, but it seems that many people were raving about it. Can guys that use it please give me some info? I know it comes with some kind of waffle cloth, and I can't recall if that should be washed either. Is it sold at auto parts stores or only at on-line stores? My car is black, and anybody that owns a black car knows that if you look at it the wrong way it scratches. Thanks in advance!! Steve |

I've been using Chadwicks for years, however I just picked up a bottle of this for 8 bucks at Walmart. Going to give it a try.

I don't know about anyone else, but I cringe at the idea of rubbing anything on my paint without having first running TONS of clean water over it to at least rinse off the standing dust etc. I also use an in-line filter to remove all the minerals and other crap that is in Chicago water.
Yeah, black IS bad with swirls and scratches, but I think using the "water-less" cleaner is going to make it even worse. As an aside, I have a black motorcycle, and use the Turtle Wax Black Box system, it has a paint cleaner / polish and black wax. If you follow the instructions, it works pretty well taking swirls out. -Ray http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...20X%2010_1.jpg |

Other than that road dirt will only require a waterless wash. |

What I think I will like about it is that every time you use it, you wax the car, too.

Yeah, glbeauchamp, I don't know about that Meguiar's stuff for claying, but I am a Zaino dude, used it for years on my BMW's, so I don't really experiment that much now, I use Zaino pretty much for all my cars.

Thanks for all of the comments, I appreciate them
I'm going to buy Chadwick's Triple Play Complete Car Care System THE BEST PRICE I CAN FIND IS IT ECKLERS FOR $70. http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...re-system.html Is there any place that has a better price, or does that sound about right? Whatever the case may be, I'm going to get it and see what the results are by testing it on a portion of one body panel. My idea is to run it over that panel in a vertical orientation and horizontal next to the other in my garage. Then I will move the car into direct sunlight for a very close look at the outcome. Worst case scenario is that I spent $70 for something I don’t' like. I’ve spent a lot more than $70 for all kinds of other things I don’t use. |
$70.00 + shipping is the going rate for the CTP starter kit. Check with Niel as he is adding distributors which might save you on shipping if you're lucky. National Parts Depot is local to me.

I feel the same way. I would have to actually see, in person, a demonstration to change my mind about these waterless cleaners.

I never allow my car to get really dirty, so I just rinse it off really good, dry it with a backpack blower and use a product I get off the internet called Dry Wash n Guard. It seems to work really well.
