Researching new wheels for Z51
im to the point i want to start looking at new wheels and what options i can do.
currently have the gloss black Z51 wheels, im wanting to stick with black. Im wanting to do 20x10 up front if possible and 20x12 in the rear if possible. I feel like the offset on the current stock wheels is conservative and i would like to add a few MM to make it a little more flush with the fenders. Just got the vette a month ago so im sorry if some of these questions are noob questions, lol. |
Buy my wheels lol! Avant Garde Luxury 28 Series wheels 20x10 front and 20x12 rear. $3600. Original price is over $6000.

So you want the same width wheels as a z06 without the wider body work? .........

20x12" with the Z06 offset and 335 rubber will not fit on a Stingray - sticks out and rubs, and can damage the fenders on bumps.
However, 20x12" with a bit higher offset (+80mm) will fit with 305 tires (maybe 315). Might have to lower the car in order to increase the camber so that the tops actually tuck under. If you really want to fit 325 rubber, some more work will be required:

Now how are 325 rear tires run at 79mm wheel offset ? Well, 1" car lowering is required to tuck the tops of the tires. And the car might need both lowering and stiffer springs.

What's wrong with that? I did it and it works fine.

At least on 18"/19" wheels, 10" up front is easy, but 12" at the rear is a tight fit. I ended up with 10.5" front, 11.5" rear wheels.
What offset are you guys using? |
Mine are +51 up front, and +83 at the rear.
|
64 front and 86 rear. You will not have to modify anything.

I'm not wanting the Z06 offset, I've seen a 20x12 on another Z51 so it should fit, I just don't know the correct offset to make that work. |
