Ignition coil testing?
What's the best way to test these? Still trying to solve why my car is so lazy when it shouldn't be..

Unless you have a CEL for a misfire code then your coils are probably fine. I really doubt your going to have a bad coil and it's not going to throw a code.

Yeah your right..I hooked up my tech 2 no knock nothing..when the car was stock I was making a right turn then hit it and I was surprised how fast this car was then the t/c service light came over. Took the car home 2 days later no service light but no more power either..still unknown

there really isn't. technically there should be an ohm measurement but unless you have specialized tools to measure the cycle and output voltage i've seen coils test good that were actually bad via the ohm meter method {on a honda}. as cheap as coil packs are buy one for a spare and use it for testing. rock auto often sells the delphi coils for GM and mercedes
if there is an easy and RELIABLE way to test these i would love to know as well |
