1959 offset valve covers

There are new GM repros of the 7 fin, offset holes valve cover for the 58-early 59 corvette. They no longer have the "mold seams", from what I see in pictures. Would they be judged better or worse than original NOS without the seams? Thanks

My two cents (pre 82 real copper)

If you have originals use them, if you are planning to be judged use originals. If you don’t care about judging and need a set just to look good, then remakes are fine.

The stagger hole valve covers never had the casting flaw.

The flaw in the mold, that caused the seam through the letter "O" in the valve covers, occurred during the 66 model year, and only effected the aluminum covers, with the straight across bolt holes.

9 fin stagger hole covers never, had the flaw.
7 fin stagger hole covers, never had the flaw.
7 fin straight hole covers used from 1960 to mid 66, never had the flaw.
7 fin straight hole covers used on later 66's and 67's, along with all service replacement covers sold by Chevrolet, had the casting flaw.
