Well, I got a miss matched pair. Originals but two singles, left and right. One has some mounting spikes missing. Chrome is ok for a driver's car.

Here is a photo of the mismatched originals. One is in pretty good condition, one has a couple broken off tangs and in need of rechroming.

Here is a photo of the replicas on my car now. They are aluminum castings that were chromed. Pretty nice for a driver. They are attached with screws from the underside.

(edit), hmmm those two models are in my garage now. The 65 was acquired in Jan and is now an ongoing non original build. The 58 I've had for 40 years.
To your question. They are aluminum castings bought many years back that I cleaned up, tapped for the mounting screws and took to my local chrome shop. Came out pretty good for a driver. Weight is lite but not as lite as originals. The trunk will not stay open even with repo springs. There is someone selling similar casting gs on the bay now. This started with some blind gal (I never saw your car) doing a bumper bang that broke one of the original spears. Eventually I found another single but since the repos fit OK I never had them redone. |
I have a pair of bare alum with mounting screw holes. They don't fit the curvature well but could possible work with some grinding, etc. They are light so shipping will be less than the real thing. Asking $80.
