6-71 Blower
I am highly interested in the 6-71 "old style" root supercharger machined with fuel injectors for LS1. What do yall think about a c5 with a tall blower on it, opinions? The link is posted below:

A properly set up 6-71 is a lot of fun to drive on the street. The throttle response is addictive. Not the most efficient way to make power (I think the sweet spot is 600-700HP for a 6-71) but lot's of fun. I bet the people who hate chrome wheels won't like this either.

I bet but I'd love to have something like that on the C5. I've never seen one on one plus I like 700 hp lol, the only thing its getting the throttle body and the mass air flow sensor in the right spots. I do have a 4 in high rise hood which wouldn't look too good with a intake cut out on top. So I'd have to come up with something for that if the blower is too tall.

I'd probably go with a seed density set up and ditch the MAF sensor if I was going to integrate injection. Carbs can get the job done too.

A fast 102 kinda fits a c5. How do you think a 671 will fit? How bolt on do you think that kit will be?

What about the cog pulley on the balancer, most likely going to run into fitment issues with the steering rack.

maggie blower would work better and be a bolt on [sort of] proposition.
While cool, the old school blowers are not very efficient. |

Ya gotta pay to play. Boost isn't cheap.
I don't see the cog fitting with how close the rack and damper are already. I think you are much better off buying something designed for this chassis. I also think you may find that you will not only be cutting the hood to make this blower fit but also the wiper cowl. |
Very true oh well at least it was a nice thought of a project

I built it for my C5. I run a high perf machine shop but aimed at the tractor pulling market. A crapload of machine work. Manifold started life as a medium height HOLLEY modular. It was shortened nearly an inch. Blower is a 6V-53T DETROIT with non turbo endplates. Had to create front drive from scratch. It will stick out of hood from the horizontal centerline of blower and up.

Very nice haha almost jealous, I don't have any good machine shops around here closest one is about 2.5 hours away, which sucks in case something goes wrong.

This photo is not of the finished product. Everything has been painted cast aluminum except for the top which will be body color. A 71 series blower is a couple inches taller than the 53 series and would be be really high to see around when on the street imo. My budget for the project was $2000 and I'm gonna make it easily.

I'd love to see some finished work pictures if you don't mind sharing

I will after install but that'll be when cold weather comes again. Wanna use the car during the summer. Doing one of these blower projects takes a lot of time for what I call the ancillary parts. Fuel system and harmonic balancer and power steering pump pulley and alternator brkt and new idler pulley and tuning and and and. Gotta go. Later
