How to regulate nitrous pressure with nano.

When I open the nano bottle all the way, my nitrous psi shoots to 1300 psi. Am I supposed to only open the nano bottle a little?

I thought the nano was supposed to regulate it for me. Any ideas on how to get the pressure in check would be good.

Thanks,
Mike

Ok, I let the bottle cool to around 75 degrees and the pressure came down to 1100. My bottle earlier was 90+ degrees.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing but my pressure was at 1050 so I took the nano valve apart and removed two shims which ended up dropping my pressure to 950. I haven't had a chance to test the car.

Any info on how to take the shims out?

I just googled "how to adjust a paint ball regulator" and watched several videos until I found one that resembled my nano one.

i believe the nano isnt suggested above 80 degrees, im not sure why though but most likely because the pressure and heat

Nano doesn't like heat but I had to adjust my regulator since my pressure was 1050 even on a 70 degree day. Tinted hatch window with the privacy cover help while parking in the shade on hot days.

You have to be careful with how cool you run a NANA nitrous bottle. You will find that the lower the bottle temps, the more horsepower you will make and the more fuel will be required to prevent a lean condition. Always run your bottle at the same temp you tune it.

I like the pressure to be at 1050 psi.

MikeSVT04 05-21-2017 10:47 PM

Ok, so my issue is this. I had the nitrous and nano bottles at room temp. Both bottles full. Nitrous psi before nano around 800psi. Turn nitrous on and knob on nano all the way on and the nitrous bottle goes to 1400psi.

I bought the nano kit used, so I think the regulator broken and not regulating the flow.

Does this sound correct?

i haven't run it on the car yet. just trying to get the damn psi to be at 900-1050, before I go to the dyno.

Someone has either modified or damaged the regulator. In general they are not serviceable but some have changed the pressure as described above. I would contact NANO and see what they suggest. Do NOT disassemble the regulator with pressure in the nano bottle.

ok, I purchased a new regulator. A ninja brand V2 pro 3000psi adjustable regulator 900-1100 psi.

anyone else think it's something other than the regulator?

User Omega 05-22-2017 05:36 AM

Its a regulator with a check valve I believe.

Yea, I got a new check valve as well.

MikeSVT04 05-24-2017 07:05 PM

Ok, got it all working. It was a broken regulator. Thanks to lamboworld for selling me a broken item.

User Omega 05-24-2017 07:25 PM

Oh damn!! That is shitty AF. I almost bought that stuff too. I hope he didn't know it.

I wish we had trader ratings here like ls1tech....

Since my last post, I reached out to him and he is attempting make the issue right. He stated he never used the kit and also purchased it used. Very upstanding.

EDI:Ok, lamboworld and I are square. He apologized and even refunded some of the money, which is more than I expected.
