C6 Z06 Mod suggestions with a budget

Ok so I'm buying a stock 2006 Z06, with 25k miles.
I have a budget of $5000 give or take to spend.

Can forum members suggest the best mods to do to get the most reliable horsepower gain.

Thanks

If I was starting with a stock Z06 and just want to increase the fun factor:

MGW Shifter
Headers and/or cat back
Cam
EFI Live or HP Tuners plus dyno tune
Tires
Spend the rest on days at the track running 1/4 or 1.0 mile passes

Don't forget you'll need to address the valve guide problem if it hasn't been done yet. You can fix the heads and do a cam in that budget.

With a budget in mind, I would start by changing the CATback exhaust (new mufflers) stock suck and sound to quiet. Then I would add headers and new "X" pipe. Then change the air filter to a CAI (cold air intake) such as a Vararam, Blackhawk, Callaway, etc. and lastly I would purchase a handheld tuner like Diablo, they really help the car run better and more efficient, if you can contact Lewis for a custom tune using the Diablo, He IS AWESOME! and you wont recognize the car it will run so much better!!

Heads, cam, intake, tune. That will easily eat up the $5k budget.
