Part number Spicer solid U joints?

Does anyone have a part number for the Spicer solid U joints? I am finishing up the swap work for putting my 1979 rear end and suspension components in my 1975 convertible. The 1979 set up has the 2.5" half shafts and I will need all 4 ujoints. Hoping someone out there may have ordered them recently?

You probably want these Spicer 5-1350X.

I think the 1350's have a larger cap diameter by 1/8 not a expert on this but I just bought a whole shaft and the diameter size came up

I used these for the half shaft U-Joints in my '69. My understanding is '79 halfshafts are the same size u-joints. They were a bit of a PITA to install, but they did fit!

Thanks to all! Looks like the "1350" style is the way to go. I didn't even think to check out summit...it's funny because it's a Moog unit but references 1350 which is a spicer part number?!

The reason they do that is because "1350" is the identifier for the series (or size) of the U-Joint.

The Half Shafts in all C2-C3 Corvettes up to 1980 use a 1350 series U-Joint. The Dana Spicer PN for it is 5-1350X.

The Drive Shaft uses a smaller joint. A 1330 Series joint from 1971-1979. PN 5-1330X.

Earlier cars 63-70 and 1980-82 with the D44 rear end used a 1310 Series U-Joint in the drive shaft. PN 5-1310X. From 1980-1981 auto trans cars use a 1330 in the half shafts while the manual trans cars use the 1350 in the half shafts. All 1982 cars use 1350 halfshaft joints.

So for your 1979 you need (4) Spicer PN 5-1350X for the Half Shafts and (2) Spicer PN 5-1330X for the Drive Shaft.

Will

Yes, and here are the driveshaft u-joints if you want to replace those also:

C2 half shaft flange u joint fit

Hi to all posters... I am also in the process of changing U joints on my C2. The Spicer 5-1350X joints fit the shafts, but cannot fit into flanges, trunion body too big. Any thoughts? Regards, DaleO

Measure your flanges. You might need to clean up the bores from old rust. The flanges could also be bent. What year car are you working on? This is the c3 forum so I don’t know if the c2 uses something different.

You have to radius the yoke a little, I have pictures of it in my threads. You can find them online.

Thanks Sigforty... I have a 65 and yes my flange is now bent :-(... but the flange had to be ground slightly to fit the larger center of the spicer u joint... The bending occurred during joint install ?? Don't believe I can straighten, may have to purchase new.. Regards, DaleO

Some have rebent flanges but with the spicers they have to dead on, buy a new or used one, bolt it to a plate and give it a go again

Thanks GTR1999... Believe I'll buy new..
