*** 1979 Corvette Registry is now officially open!!! ***

Don't get too exited yet. I'm still missing few vital elements I need to upload all the 1979 Corvette Registry stuff I have been working on very hard. BUT anyway, the registry is now fully functional for you guys and gals to join in!

So far you'll only find the "MEMBERS" page and the "Registration form" for you to fill up.

When you fill the the form, take a few minutes to make sure you'll have all the details correct and IF there's some option etc missing in the form, please let me know: groovyjay@hotmail.com and I'll make sure to make it right.

This is all new to me, so be patience with me, and please don't hesitate to offer your help, if you have ideas or plans how to improve the registry.

BAD NEWS: The summer is over and it's time for me to pack my bags and move back to England, I can't work on the registry from there, so next time I'll be able to work on the registry will be start of December.

So, now go on and fill the form, join the registry and we'll get this thing rolling! If we get enough people to join in, I'll make sure we'll have some sort of get together next summer, in one of the biggest Corvette events to celebrate Corvette's 50th B-day! I'll even ship my car to the States!

It's about time someone creates a 79 registry. There are lots of 79 owners on the forum  Good luck with its success.
BTW, one error I found ---> on the corvetteforum signature code page, instead of saying, "to link to the 79 registry", it says " to link to the 68 registry" Other than that, all looks great!

Why would any one want to Register a 79 GM built over 60,000 of the suckers. Not only that they can't even be used as donor cars to restore 68 to 72 vette. The only value a 73 to 77 has that they can be used as donor cars for the 68 to 72

According to you, why would anyone to register anything? What is the difference between the 68-72 cars and say, my no-good-79? The price maybe? What? please tell me. If you say it's the money, then I'd say you're the :troll here, I love all Corvettes, no matter what and I started this registry to provide something that many guys and gals with 79 vettes have been looking for some time now. And 'cause there was so many 79 vettes made, I think we'll have one heck of a registry soon! BTW I'm not sure what suckers are you talking about, but if it's the 1979 Vette, GM did not make over 60000 of them, just FYI

Don't mean to be picky here but I found the following inaccuracies:

'79 came with L48 195 HP or L82 225 HP, not what you have listed for motor options

Interior codes are

Oyster - Cloth 12C
Oyster - Leather 122
Black - Leather 192
Midnight Blue - Cloth 29C
Midnight Blue- Leather 292
Dark Green - Cloth 49C
Dark Green - Leather 492
Doeskin- Cloth 59C
Doeskin- Leather 592
Medium Red - Leather 722

Exterior Codes are

no 26 code in 79
28 is Corvette Frost Blue
no 56 code in 79
58 is Dark Green Metallic
59 is Frost Beige
no 66 code in 79
83 is Corvette Dark Blue Metallic

If you would like I can scan and email a complete set if info to you for 1979.

Don't worry about Toronto-C3 aka 73-454. He won't be around here long enough to matter. :nono:

Groovy

We had talked about this once - long time ago, however I'm going to make a few changes to the frontend rebuild pages I had done and a few other pages I've created since then, once done I'll turn them into PDF's and shot a copy over to you for posting if you want. I'm also shoting a copy over to Terry for the CorvetteFaq.

Again, great work. If yo need any help just holler.

I wish you luck with your C6, or whatever you own or expect to own. In the meantime, please tell me this is not a Corvette worthy of looking at. And it does not accept donations from any year. It stands alone very nicely, thank you! BTW the production figure for 1979 is 53,807.
