Battery Tender

Hi all, looking for ideas on how and where to hook up the permanent pigtails so I have the two prong plug wired in and easy to get to. Open to any any all suggestions and thanks in advance.

I hookup mine through the cigarette lighter.

i just put mine on the battery and leave the hood down but open, i've seen a few guys run it true the side vent

I went through the same process a few months ago. There's not really a good, accessible ground inside the battery box, & going outside the box to a decent ground is awkward. They seem to recommend against connecting the pigtail to positive/negative battery terminals, but that's what I did... and so far, it's fine.

Point #9 in this diagram is right besides the battery and easily accessible if you get to it from below the battery heat shield:

Positive terminal

Negative terminal (it's the bolt sticking up to the left of the silver bolt head, hard to see in the photo and nearly impossible to capture on the car).

I do have to run the wire out the hood (although I could probably snake it out the scoop) which means the hood is ajar during the winter, but it worked well for me.

That's exactly how I connect mine - use the clips over the terminal screws.

Get Cteck battery charger
Add screw posts to side terminals on battery (from Autoparts Store)
Cut off and connect lugs compatible with posts (above) to quick connect leads that come with CTeck.
Connect the female end (that you cut off to install lugs above) to a wire long enough to reach the side coves. You can run this wire through the space between the battery compartment and the fender......just reach in there.....you can feed the wire right through from the battery compartment to the inside of the door and into the cove. It lives fine, coiled in there as the connector has a cap on it to use when you disconnect it from the charger.
Mount the Cteck charger on the ceiling of the garage (and plug it in to the other outlet that your garage door opener isnt using) and hang the wires with the quick disconnect down next to the car.

This allows you to pull in to the garage, park.....get out....reach into the cove on the right side......pull out the quick connect....plug in and walk away.
Also......if you later, jump in and pull away with it connected (trust me.....the fook up fairy visits us all....)
the connection will just pull out and not hurt anything

And.....you cant do better than the Cteck.....its a smart charger that handles all of the common battery maladies....desulfates.....cross connection mishaps......long term storage.......it does it all....automatically.

I know it requires buying another part (the extension cord), but I run the cord through the passenger side window to the auxiliary power supply in the center console. My Battery Tender is placed on top of a cabinet and the cord hangs down from the rafters. This hookup has worked fine for 10 years now.

As many threads as I've read about Battery Tender hookup, I don't see this method that much. I'm sure I've read somewhere that the auxiliary power supply in the console works just as well as the cigarette lighter.
