84 Rear speaker connectors
I am redoing the sound system in my 84, and the guy who owned it befor me already put in an aftermarket system (long time ago) and I am trying to utilize the factory wires. In the rear speakers, there is a four wire connector. I was wondering if anyone knows what two wires are just for the speaker or if there is an adapter plug or connector out there. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

It is for the Bose active speakers. 12 V Power, Ground and two signal cables from the stereo.

Just a FYI, the signal wires from the head unit are not designed to carry power to the speakers. If you are using an aftermarket head unit you should run new wires to the speakers using the correct gauge wire.

In my 85, the signal wires to the Bose speakers are the exact same gauge and type of wire that is used for 'regular' speakers. The factory Bose wire will work just fine for an aftermarket unit.
