M1131 Glass tops

1 Attachment(s)
I am offering for sale a pair of M1131 glass t-tops. These tops are laminated, blue tinted and mirrored and are in excellent condition with no cracks or scratches. The weatherstripping, latches and hardware are all in very good condition. Both tops have a light blue tint that is the same on both when viewed from the inside of the car. Neither one has turned bronze colored as some of the tops have been known to do over the years. The date code on one is LJ and the other is NZ. Also included are the vinyl storage bags with the tops. These are very rare and valuable glass tops and do not come up for sale very often. If you have been waiting for a very nice pair of M1131s, this is your chance to take advantage of. My new, lower price for the pair is $1250.00 which will include professional packing, shipping and insurance. Tops have been sold on 8/24/17.

Is the LJ date code left or right? Which makes the NZ the other side.

Can you post a photo of the corner with the code information?

The LJ date code is on the passenger side top and the NZ code is on the drivers side top.

Not sure what to think: on one hand you've got great taste to have these glass t-tops; on the other hand: long black socks and short shorts...

An enigma!

(Hope you've got a sense of humor!)

I wear what I want just like I drive what I want. I'm too old to worry about what other people think. LOL. Besides, that reflection of me is like those amusement park mirrors that distort things out of proportion. Actually, my socks are short ankle socks and my shorts are almost down to my knees. And I do have a sense of humor.

What years do the tops fit?

The tops were made for 1978 to 1982 Corvettes but can be used on earlier models if you replace the mounting plates with the triangular pins with 1978 to 1982 mounting plates that just have a hole to accept the sliding pin on the glass tops.

The tops seal tightly as if the handle locks it in place? No adjustment issues? I'm still thinking about these......

Yes, the tops seal tightly and there are no adjustment issues. I ran with the tops on for about six months about a year ago and there were no squeaks or rattles and they did not leak when I got caught in the rain once. BTW, my tops are in much better condition than the other M1131s that are currently being offered for sale by another forum member at the present time.

1978 T Tops

Are the tops you are selling from the 1978 Pace Car?
Trying to understand the difference of all the tops being offered out there. Bought a Pace Car for a bit of a project and the tops are both cracked. They don't leak, but I would prefer to get a nice set. Do I need to verify the codes to ensure Pace Car if I spend this kind of money on a set? Thanks for any detail
Mike
